What is a classic Tex shroom?
I've been picking'em for 30 years.
IMO
North Texas has med size some with visuals
East Texas has large size and yes yes yes
South Texas has small size with a good body high
I've done about 150 hunts.

Just wanted to know what a classic Tex shroom is? :mushroom2:

Well shit honcho looks like you know all about Texas shrooms...
Anyway with field pickens you can throw potency, visuals, Body high ectera out the window due to many factors beyond your control...
But you allready know that since you are a 30 yr picker :smirk:

this is retarded but. i want to make a strain called freedom, dedicated to free trade of spores and shrooms. i hate it when people charge money for shrooms. i think they have allot better energy when you just give everything you grow away free, accept what you need for your self. around my area people charge like 40$ for an 8th, unless you know the right people.

It seems to me that the reason people charge for shrooms, and i do agree that 40 and 8th is ridiculous, is that alot of time effort and money goes into the growing process. Not to mention the legal aspects and risk people undertake. Just mho

Seriously Doc 34 - What's up with the arrogance - you have already demonstrated to us all in previous posts that your understanding of genetics is completely delusional.
Doc posted 'My previous posts have already clarified this issue'
Only because we informed you how delusional and ignorant your theories were...

You guys are getting it wrong - the concept of a fixed and differentiated 'Strain' isnt correct. Mushroom genetics are not fixed and classified into different strains. Each isolate of mycelia has an inherent list of possible phenotype expressions (differing characteristics). These are a genetic survival technique: they are there so that the mushroom can respond to a variety of environmental situations by using its most appropriate phenotype to tackle the environmental conditions.
Each isolate of any mushroom may contain its own unique list of possible phenotypes - each with differing characteristics. So in theory every isolate of a mushroom is a new strain, because it may have more positive fruiting phenotypes than another, or be more likely to fruit in certain conditions.
The next issue that affects this is isolation. If the one species of an entity are grown away from one another due to environmental isolation, their genetics will not be able to mingle, and their possible phenotypes will basically diverge. So that a mushroom from Thailand will not have the same phenotypes as one from Australia. The longer they have been isolated from one another, the greater the divergence. Because many strains available on the OMC are from geographically isolated areas, they are quite different and look different, as they contain differing phenotypes and respond to environmental precursors in differing ways. Its the same as different isolates, just much more pronounced.
Eventually, two isolated mushroom colonies may lose the similar phenotypes of the species completely and become a new species - such as european Ps.cyanescens becoming Ps.subaeruginosa in Australia.
As a mushroom is selectively bred using very similar environmental conditions, it slowly reinstates its phenotypes with more and more similar expressions - limiting its possible variations. At this point, when the mushroom will be more reliable in its possible phenotype expressions, you could say that a mushroom has been domesticated. If its been grown for many generations in similar conditions, its wild phenotype epxressions will be leasoned or specialised towards that environment.
So to recap - technically every isolate is a different strain - some are just more divergent than others: Your Ko Samui and Lipa Yai will be VERY similar because of their geographical contact, whereas your Ko Samui and your Equadorian will be quite different due to environmental isolation.
