Scribbles I read through your link. So, according to that link a crock pot would work, you would just need a longer time interval to completely sterilize. Just throw your jars in there before you go to bed and they will be steralized in the morning.

Yes this will work, I would advise using a taller rack in the bottom of the crock as you will require a larger volume of water to run this overnight and this will help keep the water outta the jars.
