ID Request North NSW Possible Pan. Cyans. + Cubes

Hey Everyone,

Been visiting this site for years but thought I would post on some new finds since I haven't ever come across these before. I'm used to hunting in cooler climates where P. subaeruginosa is the regular!

Both found in same location, summer northern NSW in cow poo. 

Habitat: grassland/paddock on low valley after rain. 28 degrees average high humidity in week old cow poos.


Gills:
Black to brown, tightly packed.

Stem:
Pans?: thin (2mm) fairly delicate although has some fibrous nature to them. Stain blackish?

Cubes: fibrous, 3-5mm with annulus black from the spores.

Cap:
Pans?: grey to white with a small patch of yellow at top for some. Delicate, breaks easy in the field. Some staining (black?) 1 - 2cm across

Cubes:
4-4.5cm across. White with golden yellow on top getting more yellow to the centre. Shiny when dry.

Spore print color:
Pans?: Jet black

Cubes: Jet black.

Bruising:
Pans?: black, possible blue?? Some don't seem to stain much. Colourblind, help!

Cubes: very little if any. Sort of black/blue

Other information:
Pans? Smell very strong, kinda funky.

Cubes were found in a spot where the grass had grown through to the point the dung wasn't visible. Still fruiting off old dung?

I'm normally confident identifying subs down south but since these bruise differently (especially the suspected pans) I wanted to double check. This is the first time finding either before.

looks like cubes. and def some cyans but some other pans. antilarium perhaps.. cyans bruise easy so easy to id.

Is it normal for the blue bruising to be almost black? From what i've read antilarium don't bruise at all?

Yes, your antillarium will be larger and whiter, lacking bruising
The cyans you prob want are the bruising blue/black ones ( slightly smaller and fragile)
You make us in the north USA jealous:thumbup:
You have a bunch of cyans in your mixed collection
Go find more, and share some more pics with us plz

All of your pans are Panaeolus cf. cyanescens except for the bottom one which is likely P. antillarum. Aside from the blueing, you can tell the difference from the ornamentation on the stem which is more speckled looking on the P. cyanescens.

Your Psilocybe cubensis ID is correct.
