Yeah I saw those but those would fuck up the mushrooms and why not just use helium?
Not to mention the $200 value but we will only charge you a 50 dollar inversment... (narrator comes in) Noooo Ron (Popiel (he didn't invent this one but this would be a classic ron popiel device)) it's $45.
I love watching those commercials when tripping. They are funny as ALL HELL.

Well as we all know on the miraculous "vaccum sealer" the marshmellows puff out. I just thought it might do the same thing to mushrooms. Now that I think about it I doubt that it would. And even if it did they would just look bad, no potency loss.
That would be ALOT of mushrooms to use that much helium.
And no Ron Popiel is not crazy at all. He is a genious. He invents useless items, made entirely of plastic, and convinces alot of people to buy them for around $40 bucks.

Dry nitrogen is the key, it is very neutral, more so than co2, and is fairly "large" so it wont seep out like helium would. When you buy a bag of potato chips, you are also buying a bag of nitrogen. It is used to displace both oxygen [to keep the chips fresh] and moisture [to keep them crisp]. You can buy nitrogen in a can from lab supply companies. It is used to "top off" jars of certain chemicals that degrade when exposed to oxygen or atmospheric moisture.
Using vacuum storage does work. Now if you try to vacuum pack a really wet shroom it will swell a-al the marshmellow, largely because the water inside the cells will be trying to boil off in the low pressure. Drop the pressure gradually and its a perfect way to dry shrooms, quite fast and no heat/ chemicals are needed. If you have dried shrooms to start with, just vac-pac and you're all set.

Hmm, don?t quite agree.
While this might work in theory, practicaly it is painstickingly slow.
Also you need a powerfull vacuum pump to accomplish this.
Let?s take you have 100 g of wet mushrooms.
Then they contain 90 g water.
90 g water are 5 mol.
1 mol of water vapor at room temperature takes up 22.4 liter volume.
That makes 112 liter (30 gal) of vapor you have to pump out of the mushrooms.
Better dry them in front of a fan and then end dry them with desiccant.

No gasses heavier than air utalize the same porinciple as He except the jar is inverted. Why would He be harder (other than inverting the jar)? In the others the heavier gas pushes the air out w/ He the helium pushes the air out but pushes it down instead of up.
