The omicron variant is a lab made airborne Pfizer vaccine. More contagious than Delta but with mild symptoms.

Is it bad that I halfway hope my unit goes back to being COVID? For purely selfish reasons. Hazard pay, lower patient to nurse ratios, less complicated care overall (outside of the ICU). The big issue is when that happens, the orthopedic patients get fucked by a) ending up under the care of people with no special experience in Ortho nursing and b) having to wait way longer for surgery. So obviously I don't want this to happen. Because I am a good person. I have honestly tuned most of the news out. With my vaccinations and hundreds of covid exposure hours, you might say I have become desensitized to the fear of becoming seriously ill from it, personally. But other are getting genuinely sick with and dying from this disease, and they matter, even if they are fat or smoke or whatever

Im pretty sure covids infection rate is too fast and outpaces the rate of  newly made fat diabetic cancer patient smoker drinker soda pop mongers so those numbers will run out eventually
