the doors are such an awsome band why must people be hatin on em and sayin jim morrison was overrated. forget that, they made some of the best music and are def not overrated. i really think their blues influence is what makes them special. i need to pass out, adios.

Who cares about the haters?

The Doors are one of my ALL TIME favorite bands. They are one of the only two bands that I think never ever made a bad song.

I love The Doors.  I think Morrison was a little full of himself but so what.  He was a groundbreaking songwriter and performer.  Props to the Doors.  :thumbup:

I'm a huge doors fan, but I must say, his poetry is really quite bad. I have two books of his poetry here in front of me, and its almost unreadable.

This from one of the biggest doors fans around!

It's all a matter of opinion I think.

In order to really get to know how Morrison really was you'd have to read the books rather than watching the Movie. Not just No One Gets Out Alive... but also Light My Fire by Ray Manzerek, Riders On the Storm by John Densmore, and Break On Through by James Riordan.

He is so controversial. I mean I have some of the cd's and the movie, and the music rules... hell yeah it does.

But HE, he SUCKS! He sucked to end end with but ruled to begin with, he was such drunken dick at the end, I mean I would hate to work with him, but would be honored to have worked with him, you know what I mean, he made awesome poetry and good music.

Madtowntripper, I guess it really is a matter of opinion, because I dig his poetry, its not really my style, but I still like it, its provocotive modern weird trippy poetry.
