Church of Satan is my religion. Hail satan 666.

Nah im just playing around I read parts of the satanic bible and I like what it talks about. Truly im an atheist but my brother says god and satan is real he is all into magic books called Grimoire. I dont really believe it though he said he can summon angels and demons though. I was only interested in demons though he said I had to buy a goat and cut off its head in a single strike and if you say some magic words you can get a demon to work for you.
I told him no a goats like $200 at least and I dont think it would work. Besides I want a demon to tell me what to do I genuinely want the world to have more evil in it. I hate god for years I been trying to upset him I want him to cry. I don't understand him and I dont believe in him if he gave me a sign he was really I wouldn't be so upset. I would do anything to get his attention.

At age 6, God started talking directly with me, and we have been on intimate speaking terms ever since.

Religion? No need. I don't need a book about what He said to others thousands of years ago, its what He says to me, today, that is much more important to me, because there is far less interpretation error.

I find that more opposition than from atheists I get from followers of The Book, whichever book they choose the place on the pedestal God is supposed to be on.

You Shall Have No Other Gods Before Me.

That goes too for whichever book one chooses to hold between God and themselves.

Books may stop bullets but they won't stop God.

You're a baptist, you're a follower of Christ..

I didnt hear you say you followed the God of All Things.

You want more evil in the world? Why?

You hate god and you want him to cry? But simultaniously want his attention? You said you were an atheist, how can you hate something that you don't believe in

Tao te Ching is pretty sweet but I'm not sure that I subscribe to any religion. My family went through a protestant phase when I was like 6 and the fear of hell still bothers me sometimes when I'm stoned. Definitely not atheist tho, seems a little hubristic to deny the existence of something that remains unseen. I've never seen an extraterrestrial but I don't feel comfortable saying that there's no life beyond Earth.

Non-religious. I'm a none.

Do I believe there's a god? No.

Do I believe there are no gods? No. How could I know that? Many gods are by definition unfalsifiable.

But I wouldn't place my bet on unfalsifiable/unprovable supernatural beings.

If there is a god im mad at him for not being obviously here. I think of death in its infinite groanings of Aztecs ripping out living hearts and of cancer and three year olds buried alive and wonder whether God was alien and cruel. Ive seen truly evil things and dont understand why if he talks about kindness and loving everyone then why invent these things or let them happen? I just dont have faith and im verry angry about lots of things. I want to do the opposite of what God wants. I want him to regret my existence because I really want to be nothing. Truthfully im not sure if god is real if I knew that when we died it was like turning of a light I would kill myself. But I dont know honestly.

I was raised Catholic, many many years of Catholic school

During highschool, I was totally against religion and would not participate in any religious events I was forced to attend. Made good friends with the Jewish kids in the back pew making fun of everything

Started doing shrooms during junior/senior year

Now, even though I don't agree with everything about religion, I appreciate it a lot more

I'm still against the idea of organized religion, but now that I am in the world where a lot of people don't have the background that I did, I understand it a lot better

Tripping made me understand that God is not an old man sitting on a cloud in Heaven, but rather God is the entire universe. God is every interaction you have with everything, other people, your work ethic, EVERYTHING. They don't teach you that in Sunday School

God is not an individual, God is the full body of the universe, life, death, the human experience. It does not matter whether or not He is "real" because the experience of life and all of its consequences make it as if He was. For example when you kill, steal, cheat, lust, ect. bad things happen to you. Its not because Zeus is telling you you are a bad boy but because those actions have real repercussions. Even if you get away with your misdeeds, you now have to live with the fact that you screwed someone over for the rest of your life

That was what made me understand religion a lot better

I don't go to Church on Sundays, but now I understand that it is an important way for people to have a community with each other, and we need more of that nowadays

One trip I went on I saw the pattern of a face on every single surface, every tree every shadow, even on the inside of a rock that I just split open. THAT made me understand the nature of God better.

I have no fucking idea what happens when you die. But I do know that when that day comes, you want to be able to look back on your life and say that you did SOMETHING meaningful with it. Do you want to be the guy who looks back on his life with regret?

That's where the beauty of life comes from. We are all here on spaceship earth, we have the world by the balls, even when it doesn't seem that way. Its up to you what you want to do with this gift of humanity

I was baptized Greek Orthodox, did all the Sunday school for that, then grades 4-8 were done at Catholic private school (St. John's The Baptist School), and that's when I got first hand experience with how arbitrary religious ideology is, lol.

Myself and one other Greek kid had to sit out on communion at service, so God could tell the other people how much he loved them for painting by that set of numbers for the day.

For the record Greek masses are awesome with the epic chanting and half-Greek delivery.

Re: I am a Baptist Christian [Re: Loaded Shaman]

I Was born into a Christian Family with Church every sunday with sunday school and worship music and sermon. And everything in the Bible was the literal word of God with no errors, Presbyterian from about age five to thirteen, as I remember, than through my early to mid-teens it was a Non-Denominational, a more Worship and Prayer based strength focused aspect of the Church. And but absolutely no offense to the sermon's of the second Church but I don't particularly remember what he talked about, but the Presbyterian one, even as a 6 year old sleeping sucking my thumb during services I still remember things the Preacher said to this day. You can find some of his early Sermons before my time from mostly in the early 80's By Clicking HERE. They sound like the way I remember his teachings and expression. Than in 2003 or 4 I got logged unto the Shroomery and got interested in Eastern Philosophy, People suggesting to buy book's like Swami Rama's "Living with the Himalayan Masters". And one of the best links I've received, Buddhist Society of Western Australia Teachings. Just search and listen to Ajahn Brahms Dhamma Talk or Sutta Study, Like as was said, No BS, Straight up Real Teachings.

I now still think the Bible is Holy and Sacred, I Believe in the Majority of it, but the fact there is some contradictions among the Gospels, Nothing seriously affecting the Integrity and Primary story or causing doubt in the Reality of God. Or The Life, Teaching, Miracles, Passion, Death, Resurrection of the Messiah and fulfillment of particular Prophesies and I have Faith that the other Prophesies will come true in the future, Which terror's me about the end of the world, the unworthiness of me making it into Heaven (a Fear/Love complex of God attitude?) and the concern that I want he world to end by everyone becoming enlightened and closing Hell off, but Have confidence that the Lord will justify and satisfy my concern of anyone being thrown into an eternal lake of Fire, literally a Lake of Fire! I mean I get angry tantrums when I'm withdrawing from substance's and people aren't being perfect to me, but Yeshua said he would tell them calmly, "I Never You, Away From Me Who Practice Evil (Lawlessness)," if I"m not mistaken for all eternity at he Gates of Heaven. I might totally agree with this attitude if I Experience persecution and see the end times Prophesied in Revelation, I'm pretty concerned about this,,, Pray or Enlighten me on this particular aspect of the Gospel! I do know God's way is better than mine.

At age 19, in end of 2006 and of early and through 2007 I Developed a terrifying, life destroying, family breaking up illness,,, Schizophrenia! which is like a blessing I Think sometimes but the Voice's have been telling me they're the "Devil", "there is no God", "I'm going to Hell',,, compulsively/impulsively initiating Pernicious and Backwards evil thought's in my mind, I've been through wonderful times with the Voice's, they were on my side and I was on there side, that is, the Gospel's Godly Way. Encouraging me... When I First heard voice's it was Jesus saying "I do not want you.", but than through also hearing the other voice's who represented characters from Revelations, they continuously put me to the test saying "You are either Jesus Christ or the Anti-Christ." if I farted while reading the Bible they would terrify me by telling me I"m the anti-Christ, If I thought Kind thoughts of some one they would confuse me by saying I'm Jesus. Which didn't make since to me for years Because I thought the only one that can be Jesus IS Jesus! so the only option I had for years was to to be concerned that I'm the Anti-Christ! plus I Thought Everyone in the world could read my mind but were keeping it secret from me! totally Exposed! but through the Years, I've had Religious Dreams revealing that I'm someone how, How should I Humbly and sanely say, that I'm and probably you are Jesus! You might be Evil, I Don't know but it took years from me to realize obvious mysterious that hurt, confused and frustrated me to suicidal-Depression and Psychotic-Depression, I"m also not that intelligent, lack of being able to think clearly or coherently while thinking the world is reading my mind, terrifying and embarrassing, Can't function under such pressure. But I was a pretty bad person during my years of life private freedom, Torturing insects as a kid, perverted stuff with "someone else's" woman panties, dirty, kinky fantasies that are perverted (Boredom and Isolation will do that to puberty reaching kid! give me a break, I Didn't have any Friends! lol ),,, But Honest to God I don't remember ever having a rape fantasy (except that unusual dream there where the girl didn't seem to want it but was enjoying it at the same time, actually quite disturbing, though very vague memory of a dream soon to be forgotten ) and Absolutely never to Kids! May be when I was fifteen I Thought of another fifteen-year-old but never as a adult towards kids, that's just wrong!

What was I talking about? oh yea, I have Panentheism tendency's in my concept of God, but it's been said "Every concept of God is an Idol of God", He is the Unnameable, the Unknown, the Ineffable etc,,, And my Trust and Faithfulness is in The Holy Trinity. With constant study of Dhamma and persistent looks into Wisdom and Insights along with a Purity and Innocence in a Inebriating Concoction of Substances, but Substance's are material, which comes with problems of material possession, I find it takes a about six days to get back to baseline/normal after bringing on the things I do, but they are spiritual at the same time, if the end of the world comes they may be taken from me, but life is more than dope, uppers and sensational beauties, I may lay in bed, grumpy and practically inactive (ok, slightly over exaggerating :stoned:)

I'm a theologically conservative, reformed Christian and generally identify with Baptist doctrine and polity. I've spent a lot of time thinking through my position on drug use, and I'm quite comfortable with where I've landed. Still, I feel sad because I know that if I shared my philosophical position and my practice with many (most?) fellow believers, it would likely mean the end of any leadership opportunities and would probably cause relational rifts. It's an uncomfortable tightrope to walk.

It seems to me, regardless of anyone's religious beliefs, drugs have a positive/negative nature, Like it says in the 14th chapter of Romans, "...whether it's wine or being a vegetarian, keep what you believe about these things between yourself and God (for the Kingdom is not about Wine or eating Meat, but about peace, love and harmony between you and God and among the Church)..." (not word for word, but the jest...)

It seems clear to me as well, unfortunately not so for many others. They lean on the "weaker brother" argument when responding to this criticism. The weaker brother argument, in reality, is almost always synonymous with tyranny of the weaker brother.

Hi fluorescent,

Same here - same tightrope. Though the guy that triggered my explorations into psilocybin mushrooms is a very conservative guy, raised as a Baptist here in the south. He was interested in the concept of microdosing for creativity. He's also quite intelligent and philosophical though, and isn't content to be spoon-fed doctrine. I guess that's why I like him lol, we see eye to eye. It's been a while since I've talked to him, but want to carefully broach the psilocybin topic - I've got my first attempt at a grow in my network closet right now, and figure to be a few weeks from harvest if successful.

A big part of why I am interested is that I find my thinking gets too rigid, and my faith has been weak as of late. The times I have felt completely connected to God have been mystical experiences that he has prompted as I awoke from sleep. I am speculating that perhaps my altered brainwave patterns allowed me to see reality through a different lens, and I hope to find a similar, or another useful lens in psilocybin, which God created. I have not yet consumed any.

Anyway, was browsing posts and yours was one of the few I really identified with, so thought I'd chime in. I'd buy ya a beer if you're near upstate SC
