Chinese Communism does indeed suck, its almost like it isn't even communism, but fascism under totalitarian rule. Kinda the type of thing Trump admires. Duterte. Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong-un ya know, different strokes for different folks, but Trump definitely has a "type" :rofl2:

Meh. I really don't see any issue with academic partnerships between US and Chinese institutions. Yeah the government does fucked up shit, but literally one seventh of the entire world's population is Chinese -- we'd be operating at a huge handicap if we refused to work with one out of 7 of every one of the world's scientists on the basis of their nationality alone.

its common in china for foreigners to get turned away from hotels in the mainland because they arent in the system

this is a cornell program so its going to be upper management

so basically surveillance and money laundering

and the chinese students dont stay here, they take their skills back to china cause theres more opportunity

Let’s be clear, the Chinese are an economic threat to the US because there are over a billion of them, they are more disciplined, and they are better at capitalism. It has absolutely nothing to do with communism. If China were still a communist country we wouldn’t feel threatened.

I think there would be a tremendous benefit in for students to study hear and students study their but the motive is always spying

cause a lot of the science espionage is based about learning advanced tekz but not paying for the liscence when they take it home and use it in china cause the dont resect da law
and then they build billion dollar usually green products tho tbh so im not really opposed to that tbh

although it is leveling tech start ups

I just wish they would let me study their without issues

Come on now, you can't really think that. Sure, spying and IP theft definitely happen, but it's not like that's unique to Chinese nationals. Besides, I feel like there's a lot of media panic over what essentially amounts to a difference in jurisdiction. I'm certainly not a patent lawyer, but US patents don't hold in any non-US country and as far as I know there isn't anything special about China that allows someone to profit off US patents any more than you could in the EU or any other country for that matter.
