Pub rules have been slipping lately

There's been a lot of flaming going on lately in The Pub.

I think it's important that all flames be removed immediatelly here.

There has been a rash of name-calling in the camwhore thread as well as the LSD Nobel Prize winner thread.

This is The Pub, and i?m sick of seeing it. It?s not only childish, but it puts good threads in danger of being locked because of selfish arguments.

I only told some one to blow me that I remember and I was joking. I guess there is probably a few more but most of the time I'm kidding. I do realise that crap should still be left for OTD.

I'm not leaving the shroomery because of any other reason than where I'm going doesn't have a computer, or phone, or running water, or any of that stuff. I'll be travelling around for the next couple months and only have limited accesss to the internet.

I think it's important to keep the positive vibe of the pub alive.

This isn't really my place, but I don't think freindly ribbing or disagreement/discussion should be prohibitted?

No, I'm kidding.  Actually, before I left I mostly posted in OTD, now I find the Pub a much better place to hang out.  I agree though, friendly kidding around shouldn't be a problem, but abusive behavior should be kept out.  That's just my two cents.

Those were the days.  People were so much more respectful.  OTD ruined it all.  It introduced a bad element into the site and even worse, allowed it to thrive.  People say that if we didn't have OTD, the assholes would have just poisoned other forums.  But that happened anyway.  OTD gave the negative element a base and a foothold.  A doorway to our world.  Had we shut that door, we could have eliminated the assholes one by one.  Instead, we allowed them in, gave them their own space, where they formed an alliance, bred and took hold.  The level if discourse dropped drastically at around 2006.  More assholes, more junkies, more trouble makers called The Shroomery home, and OTD is the door they walked through. 

So many great people left because of the negative energy that OTD created.  I'm not bashing OTD now, just then.  I think OTD is probably obsolete now.  I don't know what you can do in OTD that you can't in The Pub, except for post shock pics.
