Shirotamogitake spawn run
    #2663723 - 05/11/04 02:45 PM (19 years, 10 months ago)

GGMM says that the spawn run duration for Shirotamogitake
(Hypsizygus ulmarius) is 14-21 days, +7 day rest.

What is meant by a 7 day rest?

It means that once its colonized, the bag of substrate needs to sit for 7 days before it is fruited.

Thanks for the tips.  I am about to birth my first Shirotamogitake
PF jar and also innoculate a couple logs with Shirotamogitake grain
spawn.  Based on your advice, I'll just go ahead and let nature take
it's course.

Lion's Mane,  Shirotamogitake and Pearl Oyster grain spawn stuffed between split logs.

Thanks for the link. I used the Tree Guy's visqueen TEK. I also
exchanged a couple emails with him. Quite a guy!

I haven't detected vermin problems yet but will keep a watch out.

Your vermin have attacked Mycena!  Not so badly so far though.
Ants moved in but I dosed them with diazanon flakes.  No signs of
mice; of course, I discourage them from being around always.

The mycelium seems to be expanding and the visqueen tek end covers
show heavy condensation.  (I assume this is good.)
