KRATOM ADDICTION
    #26158445 -

I have been addicted on and off to krstom for over four years now. I started using to self medicate a chronic pain condition called pudendal neuropathy. The doctors couldn't help and even told me to take kratom. Over time, I got mixed up with benzos, which I'm currently still battling to get off of.

I use clonazolam when I want to make leaps off of kratom, then use diclazepam to as a tapering benzo. But currently I'm at a quite high dosage of benzos trying to get off of kratom and it's not working the best. I still take about 40g a day which is almost half of what I was taking the past 8 months.

I need off. It kills my motivation, anxiety, depression, lack of appetite, no libido and inability to climax. I hate who I've become because of kratom. I'm growing mushrooms now in hopes it will help with my cravings and withdrawals, but in order not to have a bad tripz I require both kratom and benzos and doesn't really help me out once the trip is over.

Any suggestions to help with these vices? It has turned my mind set to shit and I need to get clean.

Just chuck what you have left in the trash and don't buy any more. I get how incredibly habit forming the stuff is, but the WD's aint so bad. All it takes is the commitment on your part.

I did exactly what I'm suggesting with the rest of my supply a few weeks back. Just got fucking fed up with the stuff.

Thank you for your reply but I think I need a new method. I can't quit CT. I've tried and done so successfully in the past but right now I have a very intense microbiology job working ten hours a day and people would definitely notice and hurt my performance as I'm still somewhat new and have 60 and 90 day reviews coming up.
I try utilizing benzos and they help me push my dose down by a lot but the thing is benzo tolerance rises so fast that after 2-3 days it's not even working anymore and I'm back to my high kratom doses. I've been trying to quit for like 6 months man and I've become a fucking shell of myself. No motivation to do anything at all. I have an amazing job, girlfriend, home, and I just can't seem to lower my intake consistently. I was suppose to be clean for my girl's bday in a week but that's not gonna happen and I want to be functional and positive and have fun with her.

Got any other suggestions? I've probably taken roughly 60g today. I wake up in the middle of the night and take five grams just to get back to sleep. It's bad and I'm fed up bro. I appreciate any help. How do you feel now and how much were you taking?

I was doing at least an Oz a day, and I feel infinitely better not doing so.

I think you're copping out a bit TBH mate. The withdrawals aint shit. Why do you so desperately need some wild alternative? Why can't you just stop? I think you're using it as an excuse to keep the habit going but maybe I'm projecting my own mindset onto you, cause that's the kind of thing I would do.

Poppy tea is the only other thing that springs to mind that might help you, but as I've said; I really don't think you need it.

Thanks for posting OP.  I thought I was the only one taking this much kratom.... I take 2 tablespoons at a time, which weighs about 15g.... about 4 or 5 times a day.  Sometimes I'll add another tablespoon to the dose, almost always to the night time dose.  It has been this way for almost a year.... it's been about 3 years of on and off heavy use.  I would say that the withdrawals are pretty annoying the first few days, but not excruciating like I'd imagine heroin or something to be.... I spend the first week or so of not having any in a very restless state of moderate malaise.... the restlessness is severe and very frustrating at night when trying to sleep.  If I go one day without taking any, then that night and the next are usually very frustratingly spent stretching my arms, or reaching for something...  cant lay still for 2 seconds without having to clench my muscles or stretch/reach arms.. like there are snakes as arms.  terrible when you have work coming soon.. however I am not quite at the point of wanting to stop, though I imagine I should lower the dose some....

....just wanted to relate and to share imHo that, while not terrible, the withdrawls are sufficient enough to cause serious concern about a work day coming.  I work in an industrial lab and deal with a lot of people, many times unexpectedly throughout the day.  I definitely understand that concern and the lack of sleep for me can cause other hazards if my focus is not there.  Possible solution could be planning the worst days off and at home or able to get out and do something fun, and exercise...

In your situation, with the added use of benzos, and the condition you mentioned causing pain, it is hard for me to really understand what you're feeling.  Do you think you benefit from tough love, brother? Do you have anyone in your life to support this. moral support?  Does your gf know you are taking so much?

Do you get this restless feeling I've mentioned? Have you tried exercising?
Being new at work you're probably not wanting to take time off, but itd be great to have the first 3 or 4 days with out work.
It sounds like you are ready to quit big time man.  Believe in yourself, you are going to be much better off!

Coming off kratom seems to have a range of effects varying between individuals.  What are the worst of your wd symptoms.  Can you think of the one or two things that are the worst for you and focus on that.... stare it down in your mind and go to battle with it.  You will win.

I'm super fed up with this stuff too. Was taking about an ounce a day. I've knocked it back to 10-15 grams. I'm lucky in that I've never had withdrawals, but honestly that's not what's holding me back. The psychological cravings are ridiculous.

So I don't have any solid answers on how to quit because I can't seem to make that final leap myself... but here's what helps me. Start massively scaling back or, if possible, eliminating your use during work hours and other activities that require your presence. I've managed to avoid taking it any time I need to be high functioning and have almost zero cravings during such times. Where I get slammed with them is when I'm at home with nothing to do. In other words, boredom is a huge craving trigger for me as is being in a comfortable place. Being mentally stimulated and under pressure greatly reduces cravings. If you notice that, take advantage of those opportunities to scale back your use. I've honestly taken on more volunteer work just to keep my head clear for more hours in the day

To be fair you were doing less than half of what this guy is used to doing on his slow days, and he's been doing it for 4 years. I would imagine the withdrawals wont be "nothing". Aint gonna be heroin but they are gonna fuckin suck fo sho, especially if his job involves a good bit of physical activity.

That was my recent bout with it. I was doing far more in my days with it back in England, for far longer. On and off, I've been playing with kratom since 2009.

Of course his WD's may be worse than mine due to physiological/psychological differences, but all in all, they aint that bad. It's the whole 'I can't do it without introducing another drug' situation I really don't agree with. I get it. But I don't agree it is at all necessary.

Poppy tea would be worse than taking Suboxone or worse right now. I need to taper. But I need to stick to it this time. Which I have been the past couple days. Should take me a month or so. But I know myself and there will be a day where I just say fuck it and eat a bunch.

Would one day binge during a taper reset my progress? I think tapering is the only chance I have. Any suggestions for herbs, exercises, meditations, etc that may help? Thanks again mate

Thanks for the detailed replied man. Yeah can't take time off. So I know you recommend CT but that just can't happen. I have a three day labor day weekend but I know it will just lower my tolerance and dosage for when I go back to work next week.

My two worst symptoms are DEPRESSION/ANHEDONIA by far and probably that restlessness feeling you explained which makes everything else incredibly hard such as appetite, sleep, irritability, etc.

Why don't you wanna quit man? Hell, you could quit/taper with me if you'd like to have someone keeping you accountable. I have my gf. And yes she knows my intake and situation and is nothing but supportive. But obviously wants to help me get clean.

Tapering off KRATOM with POPPY TEA lol. How about you taper off of adderall with crystal meth? My god lol, hella dangerous suggestion.

Go through the withdrawals. Theyll suck, youll be fine. You wont lose your job. Youre thinking too much. You'll be uncomfortable for a few days, you arent going to be shaking and sweating all over the workplace.

Basically this.

If you don't exercise already, then do so, like the wind, to ease your suffering considerably.

Music is also very potent during kratom withdrawals, i find. Kratom embodies much of the obscure emotional aspects of opiate withdrawal, such as a very strong sense of nostalgia, and empathy, and 'immersion'. Channel that. Kratom withdrawals can be a pretty interesting few days if you know what to expect and how to lean into it rather than run away.

Hmm interesting perspective. Anyways in off for three days now. I can't cold turkey guys, I just can't. Tried many times but always fail. I took 50g today and just got back from work.

Think Im just gonna have a slow taper. Drop 1-2 grams a day. Stay functional and productive at work so I have a good review because my 30 day one did not go well. Fucking strict as hell and bullshit stuff.

So I have a plan and taper schedule but God damn it's so hard to stick to it. Always wanna take an extra tablespoon here and there. Ugh and it's not even really worth it anymore. I think I take. Any opinions? Besides going CT? Thanks guys

Quick question for you - what varieties are your favorite? Do you switch it up? Have you considered switching to a different variety and sticking to it for the taper?  I wonder if one variety or another would be better for a taper.... just a thought..

People's WD vary wildly with kratom it seems; especially depending on their previous opiate use.  For instance when I was trying to quit kratom, after having been kindled by previous heroin/pill addictions - my withdrawals were fucking awful.  I'm talking just as bad as my heroin withdrawals, but not as bad as fentanyl withdrawals.

Although, I think if I had a massive supply of benzos and weed and tobacco I could lock myself in my house for a week and ride it out.  Just dose massive amounts of benzos, take like 2-3g when you feel like you're gonna break and explode, and save like 10g for the next 7 days.  You have your benzos, 10g of kratom, and some weed and tobacco and your entertainment to distract yourself.  Get some nutrition shakes and powerade.

Find a week when you can not go to work after your 90 day review, and get it over with.  After 5 days you'll feel alright, and after 7 days, the 8th day you'll be able to go to work without blacking out on benzos.  That would be something that I would've been able to get through, so anyone would.

This assumption can be crippling, because it defeats the option to stop now. You've stopped off and on for four years now, so you've proven your ability to stop. Stopping can't be that difficult or you wouldn't have chosen to return to using.

Yeah. Definitely is completely unnecessary to taper off kratom imo. Kinda silly.

Go through the kratom withdrawals. You do not want to go further down this road and get addicted to the benzos too. They can take years to get off of safely while opiates are just a few days to a week of basically the flu, which sucks to choose going through when you know there's an easy cure that feels good.
