Filters for exhausting into room
    #26113045 -

I realized I won't be able to exhaust the humid spore air outdoors from the new grow room I'm building.

I share a concrete-floor workspace with many people making art. It's a big new building with high ceilings... plenty of clean air to circulate.... but impossible to run any exhaust outdoors.

Seeking advice on affordably filtering my exhaust so nobody gets spore lung. Has anyone tried this? I know many people just use window screens and metal mesh.... but is this safe for indoor exhaust? I really need my studio neighbors to be confident I'm not ruining the space. It needs to look somewhat legit.

These carbon inline filters.... are they good for this purpose? Don't they clog quickly? How much are you spending replacing them?

I'm using a small 4 inch can fan for my exhaust. My operation is small and growing mostly gourmet (15-20 5lb bags in the fruiting tent at the most.)

Thanks! Agreed on safety. I keep all PF cake/psilocybin stuff at home... I'm currently focusing on gourmets. Realizing now I probably should have asked this in the gourmet section. Sorry about that. my bad.

I just worry about the oysters. I've seen the spores cake up on inline fans fast. And now that this air is going directly into the building I don't know what to expect.

I feel you dude. I post in here because so many more people view these threads than the gourmet one. I quit growing cubies long before I ever made this account.

ANYWAY Ideal AIR HEPA INTAKE filter and box. Google it. It's good shit. WAY cheaper than your laminar cabinet is/will be.

I am interested to know what you are talking about exactly. If it's so good, and you already know about it, why don't you just share your links or info instead of handing out homework?

You are saying you use this:    instead of a laminar flowhood???

Care to expound upon this...? :mygoditsfullofstars:

I have good results in a lab made of a tarp-covered frame.  The tarp-walls are taped to the floor and I always run a hepa filter in this little space.

I work in open air and this space is working really well for me.

Good results arent great results though. Do you channel the air with ducting or something to create a flow over your immediate work area or do you use the filter to slowly filter the air within the lab?

I feel like youd def start to have better results is you had directional flow of filtered air whether its positive or negative.

You know more, we got it. King of the forums. Calm down. Point out the error, throw up something useful, and if not move along. Longwinded scoff rants, exhausting.

I'm not well versed in forum etiquette, I'd like to be. I just love mushrooms, like everyone else in here.

But you know what. Your response is appreciated. You rarely hear of people turning over a new leaf.  Seems like a lot of us could learn from the veterans like you, so thanks for that. And yeah, onto the next thing. peace.

I recently decided after dealing with a couple of trolls to choose my battles and not waste time on here so much.

Also, you are right in perhaps feeling I could have taken it easier on you. I have since turned over a new leaf in this regard (unrelated to you), and I am keeping that in mind as I type the following to respond to your post.

You know that warning before you post on a thread older than 30 days that pops up and gives us a moment to consider if it's worth posting again about something after so long...? Think maybe you should take your own advice???

Perhaps people have already moved along.

Speaking of which...

:goodluckwiththat:

    Buh-BYE.

You feel like a troll. Come in here all big and bad i know better and you haven't a clue what OP is trying to do. And yes since he's growing oysters he probably gets away with less than a laminar flow hood. There's kids in rural africa growing oysters doing g2g transfers in used coke bottles by dumping the master jar out on a table and putting "3-4 seeds" into a new jar.

You single handedly made this thread go downhill.

So peace out to you. As I've booted you from being able to continue posting in this thread. This way you can actually not waste time like you said you try not to.
