Not only have benzos been standard treatment in a medical context for bad trips since the 60s, but also many people take psychedelics with benzos just for the combo experience itself. Many others drink beer or hard liquor before tripping which is the same thing.

There are all kinds of legitimate reasons someone might want to or need to take benzos while under the effects of psychedelics, and shaming them for it is wrong. It doesn't make you cool or a badass. In fact it shows immaturity and inexperience.

I used to think that but I can't anymore because I had to abort a trip when I was on 350ug LSD and edibles because I thought I broke my brain. I know, rookie mistake and I'm ashamed to even admit it. But to be fair it was after the peak and I kinda wanted it to end anyway

no I disagree you should have the maturity to deal with a bad trip situation no matter what. suck it up and turn your bummmers upside down i think mastering not having a melt down is a skill and everyone here should up be on it. Its lazy to me, and suggests maybe you shouldn't be tripping at all if you need and escape hatch.

Anyone doing this stuff on benzos is wasting their money how is that even a thing?

The alcohol can really help loosen up the vasoconstriction of lsd, and take the anxiety edge off. Depends on your relationship drug alcohol though, I wouldn't reccomend heavily drinking with tripping at all or at least until after the main effects.

true. either you make anxiety your bitch or it makes you. I am total bitch tho, would totally take benzos if I had them on hand during a crisis and have downed kratom during  intense peak moments in attempt to settle my mind

If you take it in a spiritual manner at all, then I kind of agree. But at the same time it can certainly be a good thing to not deal with excess trauma. I only ever did it once and I regretted it. It didn't kill the trip really, more like relaxed my mind enough to not feel as trippy. Which is essentially the same thing but it was still really visual for quite a while. Just maybe not for as long as it otherwise would have been.

One thing I will say, I only use benzos to stop LSD. I will never use a benzo on a DMT related substance. Mushrooms, pharmahuasca, and dmt are way too short with no comedown for me to ever think about benzos.

I wish I had benzos on hand when I ate a bad batch of 4-aco-dmt and had my one and only true bad trip.

But yeah, benzos to kill an LSD trip after the peak is over is totally fair game IMHO

With that logic lets never use pain meds when a limb is severed off because "that's a sign of immaturity and for pussies" oh the irony
This application, even in the benzo realm, would bring death to some.

Most who I've tripped with back when I'd take LSD and other lab made chemicals to trip the majority by far would have at-least a beer or two before and or during the come-up.

I have epilepsy, so I now up my micro-dose of benzodiazapine to around .25mg when tripping no ensure I don't have a tonic-clonic seizure and die. I take a smaller dose once a day so it has next to no effect compared to my trips no using. Also, I only use fungus and plants for opening up.
Daily cannabinoids, no THC, has nearly eliminated seizures but the still rarely happen.
Everyone's brain chemistry is different. Do what's successful for you. Don't let anyone dictate your behavior and obviously don't do it to others.

They don't even "abort" the trip for me.  It just feels like I'm on both drugs simultaneously lol.  I literally have the same trip with or without them.

If you take enough with no tolerance, it will abort the trip and you might even go to sleep.

Yeah probably.  The most I've taken is 2mg of xanax with no tolerance while on a psychedelic.  I've also tried 4mg of hydromorphone with no tolerance on LSD and I couldn't even feel the opiate.  It was a complete waste :sad:

I've been high on heroin and taken LSD and the LSD overpowers it. Also, if I'm high on weed I will barely get high on a decent dose of heroin for me. It has something to do with your mental state. It's like the weed blocks it psychologically making you not feel it physically. Its the strangest thing.
