Do you fangirl over anybody?

Is there a musician or actor you love so much you would lose your shit if you got to meet them? I was asked this recently and drew a blank. Its rare that I even muster up the motivation to make it out to a show these days. My gf got to meet one of her favorite musicians recently and she was ecstatic about it. We were even front row just an arms reach away. She thought I was being rude or something because I was pretty indifferent about the situation. I tried to put myself in her shoes but I had a hard time thinking of anybody I like that much. I think part of it is that I see through the facade and understand that we're all just people living our lives. Then I thought maybe Im just a boring person. I dunno. Whats your take on fame and idolatry?

I wouldn't ever lose it over anybody but I do have a man crush to a degree on Tom Hardy. I think that dude is an amazing actor and seems like a pretty down to earth dude as opposed to a lot of A-list stars

Yeah, there is a couple.

Katy Perry, Nicki Minjai and Ariana Grande. Also Miley Cyrus.

All four inspire me with their music and singing. Something about their voice captures my emotions in a special way. Spiritual in a way. I would love to meet both of them. I was really sad to not see Ariana Grande's concert in Oregon (money conflict with Shpongle at Red Rocks), but I recently found out shes coming back to the US in the Fall. So excited. Might see her in Cali or Arizona. Not sure yet.

Would also like to meet some of my favorite comedians, Jon Stewart, Dave Attel, Dave Chappelle, Will Ferrell, Matt and Trey Stone.

Also some EDM artists. Skrillex, Lorin of Bassnectar, Raja Ram and Simon Posford of Shpongle, the whole crew of Krewella.

But I don't idol these celebrities in a hard core way. But I do recognize their art and talent for sure. If they are near my area, I wanna see them.

Can it be people who are dead? I'd probably make a total ass out of myself in front of John Lennon, Hendrix, Jim Morrison... Maybe some other famous people like that.

In terms of living people, there are a lot of people I'm a fan of, but I don't think anyone who I would just straight up lose my shit over. I mean, I'd be super happy to meet lots of people, but I don't think I'd lose my shit for a lot of them.

The other thing is that I've found that meeting people in real life is kindof disappointing. Like, you realize the person is just some guy, and it takes the magic away. They always just seem like some random person. I actually feel good about that, it makes whatever they've done seem more doable and human, but it's always a bit of a letdown. You put someone up on a pedestal and inevitably they're just a human being who poops like everyone else.

I'm not the type to lose my shit when I meet a celebrity.  It's cool and all but it's not a go crazy situation.  They are normal people.  They just happen to do something that attracts the public.

But....  I'll play the game.

Its pretty mind-blowing to see the connections.

Ive seen her talk on The Voice. Shes a trippy person. Lots of tattoos too. I wouldn't be surprised if she does psychedelics.

If I had the chance to meet Ian Bavits it would be retarded. I would have to say SOMETHING. It would be irrelevant or embarassing for both of us. He would want to be left alone, and I would lie and say that we hit it off for the rest of my life to everyone that really didn't care to begin with.

Other than him, everyone else is human enough for me to never approach with more than a nod of recognition and a "good day".

I met him, he was cool, but just like every other nerd that danced around to his own creation when he wasn't with his full band. I saw him 8 times so the coolest part was after we met he saw me at concerts and actually recognized my dumb face.
