Ganoderma tsugae...storage for cloning question
    #26078706 -

I have a question... I found a few young Ganoderma tsugae.  I am traveling and can't do any cloning for 5 days... So, I am undecided  on whether to pick them and store in the fridge for 5 days until I can get to clone them or leave them to be picked just before I travel.

It's supposed to rain tomorrow and the location is public, so I am concerned someone will kick them.

How long can these stay fresh for cloning in a refrigerator and what's the best way to store them for said purpose??

I could not decide:confused:, so I picked one for cloning later and put it in the refrigerator and left the other one to grow.  I harvested a mature specimen from this same spot last year.

I've heard of people having success cloning young Ganoderma by embedding a toothpick in the white fresh growth at the tips of the fruit. Leave it in the fruit for a few days, the Ganoderma colonizes the wood of the toothpick. Then pulling the toothpick out and putting it on an agar dish.
