Recurring possession by a pig-like demon while on psychedelics. Advice needed!

Hi guys, I need some advice on an unsettling experience I've had three times now while taking psychedelics. The first occurrence was during a mushroom trip and the second two while taking LSD.

It's the same character that appears every time. Almost a cross between a demonic pig and a human. Very animalistic. I can't 'see' this entity but I 'become' this entity. I get this very strong and disturbing experience of channelling the pig. My body hunches over when I walk. I make involuntary grunting noises. I pace around the room like a primitive, angry 'beast'. Sometimes an evil sounding cackle will leave my mouth aswell.

It feels as if I become the gateway between it's realm and ours. Like I am lending it my body and my eyes to momentarily experience the human realm. It's a terrifying experience to say the least. It's not a friendly entity. It feels very powerful and full of evil and rage. Needless to say its a good job I've been tripping alone while this all takes place.

The first time it happened I decided to resist it and not let it through. The second and third times I decided to experiment and just allow it to take over a little. To accept it. I didn't allow it to fully take over, still restraining myself enough to keep it under control. But it got quite powerful and I had extreme restlessness, sensations of electricity shooting around by body, sickness and feelings of insanity.

Has anyone had any similar experiences or could anyone offer some advice? What is it exactly? Is it an aspect of myself I don't want to deal with? A manifestation of my own psyche? Or is it literally a demonic entity from another realm that's attached itself to me?

In future, would it be best to suppress and fully resist it? Or is it better to confront it and try and cast it out? I toyed with the idea of trying to send it love. Maybe that would work.

Never heard of anything like that. I dont think its a good thing though. Perhaps send it love then cast it out.

I vote for demonic entity. 😊

What do you think it is? I tend to think it would be an aspect of yourself that is being rejected by your conscious mind. But, it’s more important how you interpret it than how I interpret it. It happened to you, who else would have a better idea of what it was than yourself?

I personally would not actively seek to channel, but possibly ask a few questions next time, like “who are you, why are you here, what is it you want me to know?”

If it comes down to the point where, every time you trip, you feel demon possessed, might wanna think about stopping for awhile, unless you are into that sorta thing.

It is. There might be even more, deep within.

Or politely discuss how the pigs behavior negatively effects you and that nothing but love now resides within yourself :heart:

I don't believe in demons or angels or any of that stuff.. but i do believe either you are fighting the trip.. or have something deep inside you keep tucked away that is eating at you and manifesting into this pigman... i would try not fighting and just go with it, it's just your mind and it can't hurt you. have fun.

Lol, i've had times where i felt monkeyish as well as lionish. My gf has felt cougarish. I honestly don't think it's anything demonic, and i personally don't believe in demons. Psychedelics aren't about connecting you to things "out there", Psychedelics are about bringing out what's already within yourself, and you can grunt and make weird noises and movements with the body and hands and feel like certain animals, that's very common apparently and has absolutely nothing to do with entities, demons, aliens or any crap like that.

IME, that's exactly what it is.

I got possessed once by some kind of evil entity, felt like a B-movie werewolf. It took me a long time to figure out what it was.

Do not be scared, it's probably just a part of yourself, a bunch of unresolved/unacknowledged/unconcsious feelings, screaming for loving attention. If I were you, next time I would welcome it, send it love, and ask it what it means to tell or teach me. It may then transform into something more meaningful to you. At least, that's how it went for me.

I think:
neither resist nor encourage, just be aware of the motif or presence to the extent that it is.

resistance is profoundly magnificational as is engagement or attraction.

instead of activating triggers (positive or negative) use the presence to remind you to relax, and begin relaxing again, letting go, having good posture, etc. but mostly relaxing.
relaxing is the only job you have after dropping acid or taking shrooms.

If you subscribe to the Jungian concept of a shadow-self, you might consider that what your experiencing is your shadow coming to the forefront. Try and recognize the parts of your personality your shadow is made of and try to acknowledge and integrate those parts in a healthy way.

Genuine post! Just decided I needed some other perspectives on what happened and this seemed like the logical place. Not the kind of thing you bring up with friends over coffee haha :smile:

Quite possible it's a reflection of my subconscious mind, yes. That's not clear to me at all though when it happens.

Definitely sounds like a unconscious aspect of yourself, you create the pigman by resisting as you feel "something else" take over.
