People have been predicting the end as long as there have been people. Hasn't happened yet. Am I saying we should just keep marching blindly forward? No. But for one reason or another, it's not gonna happen. Something will prevent these models from coming true. No one can predict the end and I'm not speaking biblically.

Since global climate is prety evident, due to emission, industrialization, deforestation etc.. and we cannot act on it immidiately due corruptions inside-out from cults(religion) bloc voting empowering political agendas and its getting worse. Whether be castostrophe or not, During the process of it. There will be a great impact/tremor on civilization as a process of the dissolution of corrupt sectors(too many to mention) its a domino effect. Worse is a collapse/blackout. But this will be shortlived as ive mentioned on the other threads. Were eventually come the (E)Light & Unity(Singularity) to restore the earth prestige/reforestation as first and foremost, the first stage can be considered as modern old age. as we refine our ways for a rapid shift towards the a next era.

Humans and all forms of life will adapt to any changes in the environment. This has been happening for billions of years on this planet.

I mean, what's the ultimate goal here anyways?  20 billion humans living like shit, no thank you. I'm going to continue to live a life that makes me the most comfortable, just like every other human.

I do believe that great compromise can be reached in groups but this does not seem to be the norm in my experience. In general, I observe people talking past or over one another. When you consider the fact that often it is the more powerful, majority group, or confident people who’s ideas win rather than the best ideas I just see a situation where progress seemingly occurs almost serendipitously. (All this focus on power may sound postmodernist of me but it truly is not because there is clearly a distinction between good and bad ideas and gradations of value or harm in any idea and its potential interpretations or applications).

How this serendipitous progress occurs is of interest to me, and, in a way, makes me partial to the notion that perhaps there is some meta “invisible hand” of sorts guiding all of this and life really is bigger than us as R.E.M sang. If this is the case, synchronicity and strange epistemological double, triple, quadruple or penta entendres seem to be both its instruments and language and we may very well be on some evolutionary conveyer belt we are ultimately only witnessing.

This has happened so many times already. After the apex intelligent polluting species die off and stop carbon saturating, the Earth rebounds into global cooling. And it freezes over like 20 miles thick with ice, which destroys pretty much everything including all evidence of civilization and life, except for the pyramids and some other stuff. That's why theyre still here.

After earth thaws, the cycle of life repeats itself and a primatealioid species intelligenceifes itself into what we are doing now until it kills itself again. Think of mold growing on bread, eventually it runs out of bread.

I welcome the end of humans though, it's inevitable, and I feel lucky to be alive during a time which I will likely live to see it happen.

This is the thing. All the other times this has happened it's 1) happened over tens of thousands to millions of years so species had time to adapt or 2) happened in a geological instant - think the dinosaur asteroid of 66 million years ago or the insane climate change/vulcanism of the Permian extinction - each of which basically blotted out life on the planet. Sadly what we're doing is closer to the second than the first.

If civilization ended survival of the fittest would kick back in. Which means cultures that didn't turn off natural selection with modern medicine and an over abundance of food, cultures with undeveloped social systems that aren't reliant on electricity and mass importing would have the best advantage.

Africa would be the hope for the human race.

It would be ironic if it all came full circle.

Though it would be a mass extinction regardless. Most of the species on the earth are already fragile thanks to all our activities. Any pockets of mankind surviving would be more luck than anything since most of our food and renewable resources would have to be around due to luck as well. The ecosphere is already badly out of balance. Any otherwise minor factors at this point could cause a cataclysmic chain reaction, tipping innumerable species into extinction and destroying the individual ecosystem for... Centuries at least. More likely tens of thousands of years.


It's not gonna happen overnight though. Maybe when it starts getting really bad we can implement plans to salvage what we can of civilization and species both.

Again tho, in pockets. And not in space. I wish we weren't retarded enough to be wasting so many resources on that fantasy.
