So i think everything is fine. The only problem is that the side pins are growing a million times faster and more than on the surface. I really have no idea why. I've heard that growing conditions are better, well what can I do to create a similar environment on the surface? it appears that the sides have a lot more moisture?

Also, if the top doesnt speed up, how will I go about harvesting the sides? can I dump the whole cake out somehow and harvest then put it back in tub to grow?

This tub is just going to do it's thing now. You should still look at surface and adjust if needed. Next time try for a more level and pack it down to the sides of the tub better.

Yes dump it out carefully, and harvest. Then spray or dunk for next flush.

So i removed the entire cake from the tub yesterday and harvested all the side pins. Dried in dehydrator until cracker dry and got a total of 36 grams dry shrooms.

I re-hydrated cake and put back in tub. it's growing super fast. the pic below is one day later after i picked all shrooms and pins off the cake.

The key to minimizing side pins is by keeping the surface conditions on top more favorable for pinning.
