I had no luck with melatonin, I get to sleep ith gravol/nytol but I need to take so much it gets me high, and fucks my stomach up in the morning so I dont like taking it

Triazolam is one of the most recreational/abusable benzos. It's got a short half life, it's twice as potent snorted, and if used often it's one of the most likely to cause acute withdrawals

I wouldn't dare take the stuff more than twice a week. More than that is just asking for withdrawals, at least in the form of rebound anxiety. Benzos should be used as emergency insomnia meds when other tricks you use aren't working. Try exercising more during the day so you're more tired by night, try not eating anything for a couple hours before bed and not using screens (or at least not highly stimulating screen-activities like videogames and use something like Flux on your laptop at night). Try herbal sleep remedies before reaching for the benzos, things like valerian, kava kava, l-theanine, and chamomile. Try showering before bed, or not showering before bed. Ideally benzos shouldn't be needed at all, but if they are they should be a last resort

I went in for zopiclone but it wasnt covered by my drug plan so the psychiatrist said theres an older medication that is covered and I got the triazolam

Zopiclone would've been much less addictive and less likely to cause withdrawals. Zolpidem or gabapentin would also be better, as would pretty much any other benzo (xanax, klonopin, ativan, restoril). Hydroxyzine or an old tricyclic like trazodone are also options and they likely all would've probably been covered, as would quetiapine, all of which wouldn't have the addictive/withdrawal risks of benzos and z-drugs. I implore you talk to him about other options.

I have a bottle of trazodone left over from 2014 so I already popped some this week , the first night worked but then they stopped working

plus I hate discontinuing ssri's
