This is going to sound terrible but I worked with ASD mostly children for over 5 years. All kinds from extremely autistic to Asperger's. And you definitely notice a trend with the parents intellectual abilities. Not always but there's a clear trend imo. People who don't know how to feed their families anything but fast food, people that leave weed grinders out and their kids playing with it while state services come in. These are people from all different socioeconomic status too but there's always that something about them.

Didn't read the study in depth, but I'm guessing they had an established working definition of "unvaccinated" as everyone lacking the vaccination they were specifically studying.

Okay you can call it biased and that's fine, but you still need to address the points.

Just calling it biased and dismissing the whole thing out of hand is itself biased.

and yes that's what they did, which is disingenuous because a casual reader will see "unvaccinated" and rightfully assume that those children have never received a vaccine.

I have a feeling when they crack the code it will boil down to neurodevelopmental anomalies. Probably in differentiation or neuronal migration.

Our understanding of germs has also lead to significantly longer lifespans for lower functioning individuals.

Coupled with the fact that having autistic people is nothing new (Lenny, Of Mice And Men) we just are exposed to much more of it due to our enormous population. People didn't have a scientific name to call it so it just went by things like "he's a bit slow" or "he doesn't like to be touched" "not right in the head".

When I hear someone complain about autism it sounds like they are mad that they are alive :sad:

I didn't dismiss anything. I just posted actual research, which strongly suggests a child is destined to be autistic while still in the womb, which would render all autism-based anti-vax propaganda false because fetuses are not vaccinated.

The whole conspiracy plays off desperate and uneducated parents, allowing a select few people to make crazy money selling books and getting traffic to their websites and videos.

Kind of like why Alex Jones can make millions off snake oil, and any ailment you google will be cured by apple cider vinegar. Selling dreams is just as profitable as selling anything useful.

The average parent of an autistic child is not browsing peer reviewed journals about marked differences in axon myelination or abnormalities in the locus coeruleus or prenatal neocortical development. They will, however, gobble up the youtube video on how big pharma poisoned their children.

I wonder what the ratio of non-vaccinated kids becoming ill is compared to those who allegedly developed Autism as a result of being vaccinated.  What's more, I am curious about the mortality rate in children who aren't vaccinated compared to those who are vaccinated.  Do the so-called benefits outweigh the risks involved of not vaccinating your children?  And do most anti-vaccine proponents know that Andrew Wakefield -- the man who essentially started the anti-vaccine movement -- had his medical license stripped from him for his erroneous research as it pertains to the alleged dangers of vaccines, and that he was publishing his so-called "results" for mere profit?  I know what some people will say: "But he was going up against big pharma and the government, the very entities which stood to lose out on profits as a result of his research findings.  They weren't going to let one man's heroic research get in the way of their financial gain."  Isn't that how all conspiracy theories start and end?


I'm not saying big pharma and the government aren't greedy, that they never release harmful medications on the market, or that their research findings are always initially accurate.  But enough time has lapsed between Wakefield's specious claims about vaccines and their supposed dangers, and enough independent research conducted that could either corroborate or refute his findings, that Wakefield's claims about vaccines remain debunked for a reason (other than shadowy government ones).  And anti-vaccine proponents cannot conclusively claim that vaccines do cause Autism; if they could, don't you think they would have science to prove it?

I've met more than a few parents, only mothers. That have said they literally saw the kid get autism the moment he was vaccinated. Turns out this is a common trend. I think people want to have the same experiences as other people and manufacture this idea in their head. It's all in retrospect that they have noticed this and now mention it. People are dumb :shrug:

My kids are fully vaccinated. We even went to the International Health Centre to get some shots that are not in our local program

No, they don't work perfectly. They work in like 95% of people and 90% of people get vaccinated so that is enough to keep you from getting hepatitis and the measles.

What article? You linked to a blog post of someone who doesn't understand science. Has a clearly hard time deciphering scientific studies. The actual article never said anything about vax non vax it clearly said mmr-vax and mmr-unvax only the dimmest bulbs would comprehend that wrong. And only someone who absolutely doesn't comprehend science would complain that there's not dozens of independent variables

It seems like pretty settled, obvious science from everything I've seen over the years. The recent Joe organ guest scientist made cogent arguments why it 'seems like' they cause autism, due to when symptoms show.

I haven't been vaccinated or had a flu shot in a very long time. I've been fine without them.
