Are MMORPGS still a thing? * 1

I was just thinking back about how much fun I used to have playing runescape back in like 2005/6- like 2012. So many fucking people used to play that game and it was packed, several worlds would be full and tons would be very populated.

I logged onto runescape the other day and it was a ghost town. Not completely empty but about as populated as private servers used to be lol

Plus it was unrecognizable.

Are any other MMORPGS still around that are decently populated?

Old School RuneScape is currently thriving and seeing numbers it hasn’t since 2007.
If you wanna start up playing old school again Bloodwhip I’d be happy to throw like 5m at you to start ya up. :heart:

But seriously, old School is in the middle of a second golden age right now and is currently more popular than World of Warcraft.

I remember OSRS.

I made a killing flipping dragon boots before they released the grand exchange. I only played like a week when they very first released it for some reason.

Is flipping still a thing?


I tried to get back into it a few months ago and couldnt get anything to sell as fast as it used to.

I guess I flipped on rs companion for about a year in 2014 but never logged into the actual game.

Also all of the friends flipping chats for checking margins were dead

I've been playing OSRS and WoW. WoW is still alright but it's going through some shit. I've been enjoying the nostalgia of OSRS though, takes me back to 6th grade lmao. It is the second golden age, for sure! WoW is also nostalgic for me, I played ranked shit and love the mechanics of the game a lot more than OSRS though for sure.

The GE changed the nature of flipping but it’s absolutely still a thing.
Now it’s more like the stock market now kinda. You got a few approaches.
One, monitor the price fluctuations of a spacific item that moves quickly and is pivotal item like nature runes, just buy as much as you can while the price is low then sell them all off like a month later when it’s peaking.
Option two, you target odd and inexpensive items that people hardly need but don’t want to waste the time to get when they do need it like a Mind talisman or something, basically just buy out the entire maket of an item for 5g each and post them up for 10g each. This is more risky, but you do have the potential with how the GE works to control the entire market of an item for a handful of hour if you have enough money to throw at it.
A third option I guess would be just selling high value items for a few clicks up, people will be lazy enough to want to buy the item then and not there so they will overcit market value.

GE changed a lot, but it’s a more stable system now where you can actually analyze market value of items in real time.
