Here's how the tub is looking today, I believe my second flush is starting. I've heavily misted it so hopefully it gets enough water from that.

Second flush coming in very nicely, I've been misting pretty heavy as all the water is being sucked up, no beads at all on the surface before I mist.

Really wouldn't worry about it much at this point... it likely has enough moisture in the sub, and has likely done all the pinning it's going to this flush

Well I just checked the mushrooms an hour ago and holy fuck have they grown! I harvested some nice size fruits, still not monsters but bigger than what I got last flush. Once I harvest the rest of the mushrooms from this second flush should I pick the little pins or let them be and dunk? I'm sure a lot of them are probably aborts but I haven't really paid that much attention to them.

Here's some more from the 2nd flush. The harvest from yesterday came out to 11.7g dry which is pretty nice. These guys got to grow out more than I'd like them too since I was gone all day.

So here's my sub after harvesting all 64 of those mushrooms :smile: I have tons of little pins, tons look pretty brutal as they have been poked and stabbed by accident and some have simply just been engulfed by the others. Do I really need to pick ever single little abort I see? I also have this weird looking spot on my substrate, its on another section too. Both look like they're glossy and I'm not sure what this is... thoughts? Should I be dunking my substrate after I harvest the few mushrooms left?

Yeah they did for sure, that might be it. It just seemed too glossy and smooth looking for it to be normal. Dunk after I finish harvesting the remainder?

Thats a judgement call you will have to make... Seems to have flushed well, so likely needs hydrated... I'd pour 1/2 cup of water down one corner, let it sit for an hour or two, and drain the remainder off while holding the sub in place with one hand, and tilting the tub with the other... alternatively, and what I've been doing with some of my shoeboxes with similar results, you could opt to give it a few days to recover, and when you see mycelium really starting to get going covering stumps, give it a heavy misting to simulate a rain... give it several hours to soak, examine it to determine if further hydration is necessary... return to fruiting conditions and let it do it's thing

Ah okay that explains those areas. I just checked and got 20g dry out of last nights harvest so around 31.7g from the second harvest and still got like 5 mushrooms to dehydrate.

So I want them to recover so I should remove my FAE by covering my holes and that should be good enough to let it sit for a few days? I've got plenty of mushrooms so I'd rather go this route and let it recover. Should I worry about all the aborts or just leave them? Again thanks for the constant help through this process, it's definitely helping me to understand everything and I'll hopefully be able to master this process :smile:

I'd maintain fruiting conditions, but allow a few days of recovery before hydrating, if opting to do so with heavy misting... bottom water can be done immediately, and as many of us fruit from spawn in unmodified tubs with the lid flipped for FAE, we also float the sub to the top for harvest, and count this as our bottom water...

I decided to add the 1/2 cup since that seemed like the easier option. I let it soak for around 2 hours and just drained the remainder. I'll keep you updated on how it looks in a few days.

I had my girlfriend try the mushrooms as well, gave her 1.2g which she usually takes 1g. She experienced nothing at all either... Does this mean every single mushroom that I continue to grow from each flush is going to be shit as well? This is really upsetting as this took like 3 months of preparation for nothing :frown:

was it 1.2 grams wet? cause that wont do shit for anyone. you'd need like 30 to 70 grams wet.

Usually people eat like 2 to 5 grams dry mushroom.
