Wells Fargo entire system was down today. * 1

So for the past two days I have been having issues logging into wells fargo app and online site.

Today I go into bank to pull out rent deposit and then tell me I can only get $100 their entire banking system had been down all day.

They said they were told a smoke detector caused the problem caused the whole world wide wells fargo system to crash.

Wtf?

It was smoke coming in from an HVAC that caused the fire suppression system to trigger in a major datacenter, flooding it with HALON gas, and then requiring per procedure to physically shut down power to the entire datacenter and physically disconnect all devices. 

Not sure if you know the scope of how big these datacenters are, but its 10s of thousands of servers and such.

source: I work there and spent the last 12 hours on the outage line for it dealing with the fallout and bringing servers and applications back up and online.

p.s. Why are you paying rent so damn late. Sheesh.
