Yes. Those are easy to find.

They are not active, if that's what you're looking for.

Welcome to the Shroomery!

Coprinellus or maybe Psathyrella Seems likely.

Psathyrella corrugis is what I am thinking.

Thanks for letting me down easy, I figured as much. It was my first time out and I couldn’t find any record of anything active growing in the area, especially this time of year.

The habitat is spot on though, I would have been looking careful through that area.

I am also in Los Angeles. Psathyrella and Coprinus species are our most common mushrooms here when it rains. There have been isolated incidences of active finds in SoCal, but they are extremely rare. Having grown up in Seattle, I have nearly 30 years of experience hunting actives, but only get to do so now when I visit the Bay area or Seattle during the season. It's still fun to go look around for mushrooms when it rains here. Hiked around Griffith Park last weekend and there was lots of different things popping up. Panaelus cinctulus should be possible to find in association with horses, however, I have never come accross them. I have mycelium from cyans, allenii, and ovoids since last season, but nothing has fruited yet. Cheers

Interesting, good luck and hopefully something comes up eventually. I’m convinced there’s some good active finds somewhere in San Angeles if the weather comes back.

They arent really established here. If enough of us find ideal locations to start patches, maybe they can gain a foothold.
