How would you know you "lost the gamble" if ones consciousness is reset to forget the previous life? Please try not to let this get you down, enjoy, live!

Because there are a number of other transwomen through history who all lost the gamble
and no quality map of the future that indicates things get better for "us"

consider my exposure to the realities of other peoples lives to be a sort of teaser for what is to come
and do recognize the capacity to take comfort that, statistically speaking, "I" will have more go-arounds born cis and comfortable than born trans

so, in a way, my life has to also reach a point of quality where it is no longer a life other transwomen fear eventually having to live
:cookiemonster:

but more ideally, all of it will be for naught
and the grave will be a peaceful end to a tumultuous stream of consciousness

This part of your post really struck me man. This, I think, is such an important skill. We're all so guarded in this world, and rightfully so, for it is a cruel one. But if you can be the catalyst in helping people to drop their guard a bit, the benefits for all parties are limitless; for there's such a massive inner world contained within us all, and to share it is to enrichen it.

The only tutor I ever had that I stayed in touch with said she thought that I would 'touch the lives of anyone I come into contact with'.

It certainly has seemed that way these past few years. It's so beautiful to spread love and good vibes, as often as possible.

As I said in OP, it's one of my primary reasons for being, from now, and very probably until I die.

I've found that sharing the pain of life bonds people deeper than just sharing the fun.

Open up, and others generally follow suit. Then good shit happens.

Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

I’m pretty sure the point is not to be an abominable selfish undisciplined douche to other humans whether people are watching you or not.  If you are striving to be your best self everyday and not using other people for glutenous pleasures or your own amusement to fill your voids- and you genuinely treat others as you’d like to be treated, coupled with not pumping your own past traumas toxic bullshit into other people’s lives- you are off to a great start.

I feel like a lot of people know the difference between right and wrong and making enlightened good decisions and they constantly choose to be selfish, undisciplined and devolving because it’s an easier path.  I’d say the point of life is being able to say at the end that you haven’t been an absolutely trash human to people when it counted.  I can say I’ve met spiritual people who definetly don’t practice half of what they preach and it’s why they keep ending up in miserable depression holes.  It’s almost like the purpose in life is not only experiencing life but healing and growing from your trauma instead of stuffing it down everyone’s throats for why one behaves like a sociopath and then planning to repeat said process their whole life instead of learning from their mistakes.  Mind boggling epiphany I know.

TLDR: Be a good human/try to be your best self, help fellow humans when possible and don’t be lying hypocritical selfish cunts for self serving reasons you justify with fake bull in an endless cycle for 100 years.  Because that would be truly sad and unfulfilling.  At least in my book.

Man you all are going fucking deep with some of your responses!!  But to oversimplify it in only a few words, is it fair to say that really the point is just to stay alive, procreate (staying a live as a species) and have fun?  The 3rd thing isn't really "the point" but you might as well enjoy it while it lasts right?

IMO you are pretty much spot on. To take your point a bit further I would add: live, learn, grow and evolve. I can't imagine what my life would be like if I didn't push myself (sometimes painfully), to be a better person. Going out of ones way to try and accommodate other people, even if they are total assholes, in itself will make you grow as a human being. Just don't fall into their trap; i.e., listen to everything but then stick to your guns. Your heart will tell you what feels right or not right.

"There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here,
it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened."  --Douglas Adams

the word point seems to suggest that it's the culmination of something

to reach a climax, there must be development

to have development there must be a process of experience

and that process needs an observer for it to take place.

what came first, the observer or the point?

The dark night of your soul type thing?

That's kind of how I felt, maybe am still feeling a little bit.  I went to a therapist a couple years ago, paid her $85 each 45 min session, I was kind of hoping she would tell me something was wrong with me because I couldn't fathom how I could see the world the way I saw it and be sane, but she just told me to keep meditating and that I wasn't losing it, phew.

I have a positive outlook on life but I feel like people try to skew how others see me.  I feel like I just got put to some huge test where I everything around me was trying to change me for the worse.

I think we all go through a "dark night" in our lives, it's how we rebuild ourselves after coming out of that tends to show what we're truly made of.

I think that reality might be like a tape of film, which is of a simulation.

It can also be thunk of as a script of a complex reaction. "We" are super small, super complex details within the script. Cellular life is a script within a script. Humans, plants, animals, all living things are scripts, results of the script. Etc. The outcome of the future is solid unchanging results of the script. We have no free will, free will is just the part of the script where we perceive ourselves to have free will. AND when we question our free will, that's just a result of the script.

Our bodies are not "us" they are just the vehicles with which we play out this atom based script simulation plane. Your body, your culture, your actions, your morals etc is a product of the script, not of what you choose to be

For the origional OP question, the point is whatever the script results are for your body vehicles brain to feel comfortable

I like this.

I was feeling some nightshift darkness when I wrote my reply but I always say to the ones closest to me that my goal is to die content with my decisions...no regrets...more specifically, did I evolve positively and learn from my mistakes or did I repeat them?  If I did...I'm going to shed tears of regret when I'm dying.  And that's my biggest fear...to know in my heart of hearts that I didnt right my wrongs when I could/should have.  That I could have been better.

I'm told one of my most glaring personality defects is that I'm extremely hard on myself over everything.  Every interaction, every pursuit, every choice.  I'm very critical of myself and always aware.  And I perhaps cross a line with it where it may not be healthy for my mental health long term.

Many people dont practice what they preach.  My biggest fear would be to know I am one of them.

On a side note...

It takes a lot to truly know someone.  Often, our own emotions and can really cloud our perspective of other people.  I'm terrible for being judgy bastard...especially since I am just as judgy, if not more, of myself.  Sometimes, the way we see people or peg people may be inaccurate and emotionally clouded.  Just some food for thought.

Don't be hard on yourself friend. If more people took the time to do a little 'self inquiry' as you do, the world would probably be a much better place. Of course, being hyper critical of oneself like you implied can be problematic. Maybe it is a question of balance? Maybe seeking a way to equilibrium is the answer?

When I think of the way I was years ago it kills me! What an asshole! But I turned my life around and often feel not necessarily happy, but definitely more often than not content. I wish you contentment.:happyheart:

To be truly human is to explore.
People stop exploring, and it makes them sad.

Thank you.  Appreciate those kind words

I havent found a way to equilibrium so far.

Hoping to introduce meditation in my life this year in hopes it may help with that(among other things of course)

Well, what I keep in mind is.... peoples actions tell us a lot about their character. I had to learn that the hard way.  Someone can tell you they love you and how special and different you are all day long and they’ll fuck someone while your ass is at work just because.  That is not a man who is honorable or honest or has steely  integrity or is being their best self or wants the best for the person they are making a valuable connection with, nor is an actual spiritual person right?  I probably don’t have time to judge people I don’t know, although on subjects of cheating and mistreating women I am quick to write men off.  I cannot bring myself to hold people like that in high reguard. It’s not my job to pass judgement on my fellows if they are not affecting me or those I would seek to help.  I do call it like I see it and am known for being blunt, if more people had the mindset of my first post- I think society would be in a more positive place.  It is irritating that we continue to see a great decline in the quality of people’s moral compasses (and sense of accountability)  and the blasé excuses that accompany people’s decay of such.

People make mistakes.  And then there are people who fuck people over and just make excuses for why they behave poorly as if they didn’t actively do wrong/cause harm/lie/etc.

Also as far as you being hard on yourself... if you are trying hard and doing your best to be a good person by yourself and by greater man- you are doing a lot better than a good portion of the fuckers we come in contact with all over this planet every single day.  Being human is to make mistakes- but it’s our job to make good mistakes and to learn from them- and with that- I don’t think we can be too hard on ourselves.    Good thoughts, good words, good deeds.
