I think the cops are equal opportunity.

Where I live, there may be 75 black folks in the entire town. Hell, there’s only like 10,000 white folks. It isn’t exactly metropolitan.

But the cops still beat people, get into shoot outs, gun people down, all the way out here.

And very few of those people are black. The bulk of them are poor, white, meth addicts.

I think the rates of police shootings is likely uniform across all populations. A town of 10,000 gets one a year, a city of a million gets one or two a day.

And when you change the demographics from 99% lily white to 80% black, you’re going to see a corresponding shift in the numbers of people shot by cops.

It’s possible that a lot of these statistics would be more meaningful if they were looked at via a local lens, instead of as a nationwide statistic.

I think cops treat meth addicts and minorities about the same. But in a suburban town cheapest house is 250k and almost no one rents. I would love the statistics on shootings by cops in those places

They are obviously lower.  Rich black people don’t get shot; similarly to rich white people,  this much is true.  ButRich people pay taxes that actually FUND police departments; ala better treatment for citizens.  Also the suburbs / area of affluence are way less likely to have weapons that are illegal intended for crime.  This makes sense why a cop would be more likely to shoot in an impoverished area.  Oh yea and if they shoot someone rich there likely to be high powered lawyers involved.  Not as easy for the police to sweep under the rug.

Tldr; wealth is a bigger indicator of how likely you are to be shot.

Obviously, all of this is basic statistical commonsense. There's no conspiracy here at all, just human nature.

No they don't. They find loopholes around  it while funding politicians that keep the laws in place to help them keep the tax loopholes/shelters and then the lawyers and local politicians tell the police not to shoot them when they get into any trouble.

To be fair, I've seen hella videos of American cops dealing with beserk people in the most passive, pussy way. These cops should've clocked that dude onto the cement before he tries to take a hostage. American police react differently to shit because more shit goes down in America :lol: whether or not that's due to a cultural thing is a different story.

There's a reason those goofy ass "cops" in Britain and other Euro countries carry whack-a-mole clubs instead of a real weapon. They wouldnt really need to use it ever. But regardless of what you thin of gun laws, it cant be argued that an American cop would not need his pistol and that a SWAT team would not need bulletproof vehiles with automatic weapons. Cuz they gonna get shot at inevitably, while a british cops most dangerous day in his career is probably gonna be chasing down a teenager who littered into the Themes.

In the US they would have tazed him immediately. It sounded like those cops in the video were shooting their guns but nothing happened. What were they shooting? Were they just firing warning shots? I wouldn't think they would do that in a populated are like that so I'm confused what it was.

Every major spike in police equipment improvement has been in response to gun related violence. I know it, you know it. Remember how cops used to carry around little pea shooter revolvers before the North Hollywood Shootout? You think America spends countless millions on outfitting a high-tech police force cuz it looks cool? Nah, it's cuz we use dat shit. And SWAT teams don't have guns that can shoot a fuckin thousand bullets a second so that they can mow down methheads like that polish dude. It's for other guys with, you guessed it, guns. I mean, there's no way that you think the amount of protection a police force is equipped with has nothing to do with the amount of deadly threats they have the potential of encountering.

Honestly being a shady fuck doesn’t entitle them to hurt you but it’s not surprising it could get you killed. If you don’t act like a shady individual in public I would go as far to say you will 99 percent not be shot by cops in cold blood.  It’s a shame that they even do that at all, all the more reason to not be a martyr I feel like you gotta pick your battles and an organization as big as the government probably is not best to resist in a physical sense.  Most people don’t really stand up for what’s right anyway so you gotta realize your completely alone against arguably best funded gang in existence
I wish there less weapons voluntarily even though I’d never ask people to give them up at all nor will they. Then maybe we could have policing like Europe.

Honestly this made me feel a little better about the police in the US for how long they let him keep being violent and also fuck up that car. They should have just tackled him and put him in cuffs. What were they waiting for?

Even here in Oz he wouldn't have got away with that shit, would have been tackled and cuffed and in the back of the car in no time.

After tackling that cop would have been in for a tazing for sure too.  :shineon:

Can imagine the charges list... Disturbing the peace, police assault, destruction of property, resisting arrest, and everything else they could think of. Perhaps jail time.
