Has anyone seen: Spirited Away?

Kevin and I just watched this movie last night, and it was really surprisingly good.  (except I didn't like the ending so much, but still)

It was so creative and imaginative and FUN.  I really loved it.  :smile:

yah it's one of the better anime movies out there

if you like that, check out My Neighbor Totoro and Princess Mononoke (princess mononoke isn't that great though, but it's generally put in the same group as spirited away)



also, I recommend everyone here see the movie hero. Quentin Terintino (however you spell his name) is releasing it on the big screen here in the US, but it's been out for a while (it's chinese). I suggest you go find it and watch it, it's amazing.

I liked it a lot. Another good anime movie (if you like depressing war movies) is Grave of the Fireflies.

I've seen spirited away, dubbed in spanish, good movie.

What about wings of honnenaise. I'm sure the spelling is incorrect, but its a great movie.

I'm about to buy that movie some time soon, I'm dying to see it. I'm buying it because I just know beforehand this is a movie worth buying.

Hmm on the japanese anime side am a known fan of Akira and Ghost in the Shell. Two of the greatest manga films to date i think

Yeah, but they did that whole "true love conquors all" thing between the girl and the boy when they had really only hung out 2-3 scenes together in the movie. It just didn't seem realistic. Infatuation, maybe, but not love.

And yes, I'm aware that it's a childs movie, but after the mindblowing creativity in the film, I was expecting the ending to be, well...a little more creative.

It still was a wonderful movie, but the end was tricky for me.

That movie is one weird and interesting movie.  I saw it once and just wondered what the person was thinking when they made that movie :crazy:  :lol:  They must have been TrIpPiNg!!!!! :nut2:  But yah it is pretty good...

sometimes "child's movies" is just a term that means good for the soul.
As opposed to "adult movies", which is senseless violence, and other means of desensitization.

Spirited Away fucking rawks.

Yeah, no need for a lecture people. When I said "child's movie" I didn't mean it in a derogatory sense, but rather in a formula sense. I loved the movie, I just thought the "true love conquors all" thing between the two children was disappointing because it's a formula that is overused in movies. I thought that the movie could have been great without that.
