Sweet Potato Agar Ideas

Sweet Potatoes are cheaper here than regular potatoes. I want to try a formula for making agar based on sweet potato, even if out of curiosity. What I would like to know are other peoples recommendations on different proportions of formulas. I found a post floating around from a study in Philippines where the researchers used sweet potato and sucrose to make the agars and claim to have had better results than with PDA but I cant access the research paper to find the formula they used.

What are the community's ideas on different SPA formulas?

Just switch out potato for sweet potato...

Now the study wasn't all that comprehensive, it basically says: "we tried, looked like it worked".

Regarding the ingredients, quote:

Man. Everybody always trying to make something cheaper. I grow mine for about 47 cents per dry ounce. If I cut every corner possible I could probably get that down to 41 cents at great difficulty to myself. LME is 6 bucks for a lifetime supply worth.
