Earlier I walked my son to a nearby playground, and when it started to rain, we took shelter in the pavilion there.  As we were chillin waiting for the rain to let up, I noticed something stuffed up in the rafters.  It was a paperback novel called ‘The Book Scavenger’ in a ziploc bag, and in the book were several notes.  It was left there as a gift for whomever found it by a local book club.  A group of third graders.  They all left a little review of the book, and a couple of the notes contained a brief message written in cypher.  I left it there for a kid to find, that kind of thing would’ve been super exciting for me when I was 8.  It was cool to see that kids are still doing stuff like that, book clubs and secret messages, etc.  Good for them.
