absolutely wrong. They cannot remove him for any reason. There is a first amendment. The White House cannot pick and choose who has access to press conferences. That press pass belongs to CNN and CNN can send whoever they want. They can’t take away his pass because they don’t think he’s respectful enough. That is a clear violation of the first amendment. Trump has no leg to stand on, and that doctored tape is not going to look good. I expect the judge will issue personal admonishment to Sarah sanders for her role. So in what circumstances can the White House take away reporters' passes?

Also, it doest seem like Acosta's 1st amendment rights have been violated.  He can still ask those questions in his papers all he wants.


The White House CANNOT pick and choose which reporters cover the president. This should be obvious.

Like I said, no reporter has ever had their pass taken away. The White House went way over the line

Trump is welcome to sue for slander. if he wins then he can remove Acosta legally since
Slander is not protected speech. Until then Acosta’s clearance must be restored.

Just to clear things up a bit.

The press pass belongs to CNN. These passes for access are negotiated between news organizations, the White House correspondents association, and the White House.

The press pass was not revoked. Jim Acosta’s access to the White House was removed. CNN has to send another reporter who is allowed access.

The White House needs a legitimate reason that does not involve the work, content or tone of the coverage. This is why they doctored the video. An assault would be a legitimate reason. Of course no assault occurred. Essentially it would require criminal activity or national security.
