Were growing under hedge in amongst dying grass and on some woodships.
They were growing close to each other and not in bunches as such.

Stem snaps easy and is shreddable

No bruising

Earthy smell

You need to be looking in sheep, horse or cattle grazing areas or grass heavily fertilized with manure.

Hi Doc,

I'm in Newfoundland, Canada. My best field is not fertilized with manure. I've also seen libs in manicured grass (ball fields, graveyards, lawns) that were probably never treated with manure. Would you say that's unique to Newfoundland liberty caps? Enough to differentiate tem from libs elsewhere?

I probably should have said well fertilized grasses, it doesn't have to be manure.
