Identification please
    #25525877 -

Hi Guys
following some very frustrating hunts I found two different types of these fungi laughing at me in my lawn.

I do not think they are active but am just curious - before I mow them away.......

Sorry I forgot to mention I am in the Northwest of the UK in a very leafy lane.

Cheers :mushroom2:

The first one looks like Lepiota sp. what is the spore print colour? And what are the dimensions?

The second one looks like an old rotten Honey mushroom.

The spotted one has a 10 pence piece on top for scale.

I will check the spore print and get back to you.

Thanks,

I’m not 100% sure but I think the first ones might be Lepiota hystrix.

Some Lepiota species are deadly poisonous, so they should be avoided.

It is a lepiota species, microscopy is most likely needed to determine the exact species. Like Duggstar said, some are deadly and best avoided for the amateur.
