I'm not super comfortable with the prospect of cannabis purchases creating a paper trail with the government.

Can comprehend the apprehension
have personally grown accustom to visiting Canada Post to pick up supply when running short for a month
but did very much prefer growing my own and later going to my designated grower's place directly before the previous government changed up the medical rules

would not personally use the service -- not available to me as an out-of-towner, and living in the city would prefer to visit storefront and pick through my selection there
but it strikes me as a convenience people are willing to pay for, and therefor a niche worth filling

tho also vaguely remember a beeper + bicycle delivery people used around campus for parties and stuff, but that was presumably off books

In Ontario that's going to be the only thing available at first. I want it to be like buying alcohol, where I might get carded the odd time but my ID is not copied down. I just don't like the idea that they might share the data with whoever else. Car insurance, plates flagged for traffic enforcement, whatever.

What's also odd is that you'll be able to grow 4 Cannabis plants. But growing 1 Hemp plant is illegal.

But hemp is cannabis.

That is stupid, but the article does not seem to entirely agree with your claim that "growing 1 Hemp plant is illegal".

Quote:
If you really want to cultivate hemp at home after legalization, I suppose you could grow up to four hemp plants instead of drug-type cannabis plants, assuming provincial law allows it. That's not much hemp, though.

Add to the list, the potential that it is shared with border officials of the USA. Imagine you buy a little herb once through the Ontario system and you are barred from entering the USA for ever and ever hence forth. As the situation currently stands, you can be barred from the US if you admit to EVER consuming weed and it is left to the discretion of the border agent. Now, given that the Ontario Gov proposes to produce a paper trail, you couldn't even deny it if you wanted to... Well thought out !
