Interesting to see.  Personally, I’m not the type of person who likes music and politics mixed together, but I can definitely appreciate an artist telling alt-right trolls to fuck off.  If I was a musician, I wouldn’t want that element at my shows either.  Glad to hear that you guys have stopped camping the rails, too.  Thanks for the response.

The nectar fans would get to a show like 12 hours before Nectar plays, and they’d stand/sit right in front of the railing in front of the stage.  They’d stay there literally all day, through every other musicians’ sets, commonly with their backs facing the artist on stage, so they’d be front and center for bass nectar.  It kept other fans from being up front during their favorite artists’ sets, and the nectarines would commonly harrass fans of other musicians, or sometimes even the musicians themselves.  It’s incredibly poor form, even at a festival.

It used to be common practice for Basshead’s at festivals to camp out for 13+ hours at the front of the stage Lorin would be playing at later that night.
Some were nice and would let people come in and dance for acts they cared about, others would be very protective of the space and some would sleep through or turn their backs to the artist who were playing before Lorin came out.





It’s super shitty, but it goes to show how crazy and enpasaioned we are.

As for me, I stopped caring about bassfront property in 2013.
The real freaks get down in the back.

Oh that’s kinda fucked up.. I’m surprised that worked out for them enough for it to become a problem.  I would have thought the crowd would eventually get them to disperse..

Lol @ camping the rails. The best hot spot for sound in general is right in front of the sound booth, not at the front of a stage.

Especially Bassnectar where I would think the best spot is back a ways enough so you can see all the screens and shit.  I’m sure he dances or whatever but the show is up in them screens and lights.

Yeah, it’s a dumb spot.  Cramped, and not the best sound.  I guess you can see the nectar ok from there, but i don’t get why that’s important.

If that’s the case (I can’t tell if you’re joking or not- it seems silly, but I know folks like ket while they’re “raging the nectar”), why doesn’t bass nectar accommodate his audience by putting long rails through the middle of the floor?  The one up front, one 30 feet behind it, then more at 30 foot intervals?  Would you guys appreciate having more K support rails?

They should just give walkers to everyone at the nectar shows. They can decorate them with flowers and LEDs and people can go crazy with the K.

One time I was at a Further show. Was up in the nose bleeds and this guy came over to the front rail to do some K. He snorted some lines and then got up and almost fell over the rail. Someone saved him and good thing because he would have most likely been paralyzed. It was at least 30' down to the concrete floor.

I like your new Avatar Sara. Never thought Bassnectar would get so political. I guess its cool :shrug:

Its funny u saw him in San Fran, since thats his homebase. I bet that show was incredible! Super jealous.

I would say that people who rail-camp want to see Lorin and possibly get the best screen visuals and not so much get the best sound. Best sound is near the sound check booth.
