the last person to offend me was my ex-landlord, someone i considered a close friend and family, whom i'd built a relationship with for 8 years prior, as well as his biological family, when he tried to fuck me over for a few hundred dollars and told me to get fucked and to go fuck myself, despite years of working for him/them and making drastic improvements to one of his properties.  that was over a year ago.

so nah, an upside down cross doesn't offend me.

the fact that people of the christian/catholic faith would be offended by an upside down cross, something that has never actually meant something for hundreds, if not over a thousand years, is pretty ridiculous.

people choose to be offended, they aren't made to be offended.

So why the upside down cross?  Why not an upside down buddha, or mohammed, or ghandi?

The true teachings of the Essenes and Jesus were mushrooms, love, compassion, minimal materialism, service, forgiveness, eating healthy, and applying the Golden Rule to EVERYBODY.

No need to flip the cross upside-down just because many christians have been brainwashed to flip the teachings upside down......

Because I live in the USA and there are many bible thumping violent religious types here, a cross seems the most relevant due to this being a "christian" country.

Also, I was meditating and saw an alien and it showed me a pyramid, above the pyramid was christ on an upside down cross, with a wave its hand the alien turned the upside down crucified christ into dust, just throwing that out there.

A litteral Cross is close to an electric chair used for executions. It has nothing to do with true christianity.
A upside down/demolished  electric chair is much plain good to the sight.

The alien GOD showed you that the highest form of conciousness is Christ, And the material symbolism has nothing to do with it. the works & deeds has the highest degree.

Inverted crosses, like inverted pentagrams, are a vestige of European Satanism, which in the 18th century was really a nose-thumbing at the authority of church from a European Age of Enlightenment perspective. It was intended to be offensive and the so-called Black-Mass, treading on or urinating on symbols of the cross was more a theatric kind of enterprise than a metaphysical thing (like LaVey's 20th century brand of Satanism). In Miami, and presumably elsewhere, graffiti of a rival gang painted upside down, or 'throwing down' a rival gang's hand sign, is intended to offend and bring confrontation.

I understand defiance of modern "Christians" who rail against abortion but won't advocate government assistance to unwanted, abused children whose unfortunate lives might have been terminated before they began. I understand overt displays of contempt for "Christians" who hate LGBTQ people and justify it with biblical verses that were either taken out of context or phony 17th century scribal insertions (since there is no biblical Greek word for homosexual,  in the original documents). I understand not respecting the ignorance, no, stupidity of "Christians" who reject science for biblical mythology and want to force others to do the same.

What I don't understand is how any normal human being  can 'invert' the values as taught by the biblical Iesous (even IF he was never the historical figure who is being portrayed). Normal, healthy human beings appreciate humility over hubris, generosity over selfishness, kindness over cruelty, tolerance over judgement, forgiveness over vengeance, honesty over dishonesty, and truth over lies, just to name some. So if someone fancies him-herself as some Goth character, and wears an inverted cross, I'd want to know what this symbolizes for them without me assuming anything. I mean, if that person is a sick, sadistic, hateful creature, I'd want to know to avoid him/her. I have a "religious mindset," but it is not "hardened" against other like mind-sets of different traditions. I do take an inflexible stance against animal or child sacrifice or other cruelties in the name of religion!

Your response comes off as assuming that someone that would do such a thing would not appreciate humility, generosity, kindness, tolerance, forgiveness, honesty, and truth.

To choose the other options would be ignorant because they could lead to troubles.

Don't assume that someone that would do such things would be some goth edgelord, that reeks of a religious mindset, especially when you mention animal/child sacrifices, you're smarter than that.

One must try to find the proper balance between Mercy and Severity when making decisions in this life, I don't feel like LaVey represented that idea well so I don't get along with him.

Strong points mark and history. Specially the last paragraph. Since there has been a long blackout on thy True word (Amos 9:11), that Theyve create divisions among men by using Iesous words, taking advatage of spiritual hunger to serve their own appetites (Rom 16:18), over thinking it Creating illogical doctrines that theres no salvation outside their west founded chruches, condeming men(John 16:2) breeding hatred and fear. When the simplicity & true essence of it is love thy neigbhor as thyself. For sencere brotherly love(1 pet 1:22,1 John 4:18) does all those rightousness mentioned above.

I'm not assuming anything Fennario, I clearly stated that  "I'd want to know what this symbolizes for them without me assuming anything." I have met a couple of damaged people, one a young man confined to a wheelchair and who fancied himself as a Satanist of some kind after LaVey. We were at a Pagan Yuletide gathering in a friend's backyard (a yard where a renter would hang himself from a Florida Live Oak a few years later, to be discovered by his teenaged daughter). Some Neo-Pagan or Wiccan woman was reciting the names of every mythical deity she could think of and the chair-bound guy kept hissing out the word "Shem HaMeforash," a reference to the hidden name of God that LaVey used in his Satanic Bible. The doting and perhaps satanically sympathetic blonde sister with him looked about as fragile as any young woman I'd ever seen, but the guy just seemed to radiate a smoldering rage, I don't know, maybe hate. My step-daughter picked up on this and was obviously creeped out by him and the whole scene. She was maybe college aged and said "Let's go home, burn some incense and play some Christmas music." I got the point and we left.

I went through a Satanic Bible thing when I was 18, but it was my first flirtation with anything outside of scientific thinking, the dark origin of my first spiritual development as it were. I set up but never used an altar at home, my dad help me build a canopy for my dorm bed, inside the black and purple-draped thing was an inverted cross on the wall made of black 2" wide cloth bookbinding tape. There was also a 1/2" manila rope noose, a black light tube and a DayGlo poster of The Devil Tarot card. I'd take early evening naps, arms crossed on my chest like I was lying in state. My roommate would open the door and show kids his weird roommate. I thought the whole satanic thing was just sexy. All that dark shit changed after my first acid trip. Even though the Occult Revival of the early 70s was on, there was always something tragic and even suicidal about those people who dressed in black, before Goth was the thing it turned out to be (often an excuse for closeted boys to wear lace and leather and makeup). This was when Alice Cooper hanging himself on stage was the rage, and Black Sabbath ruled.

I was never cruel or sadistic so it was a bad fit. Plus, my unconscious began to generate dreams with opposing ideas, an enantiodromia. There would be dreams in black and white like a Bergman film with dark hooded figures moving on high walls, and there was a dream of encountering a crucified Christ on one of the landings in my dorm staircase and me offering him morphine tablets. Five years later I would enter a Christian seminary for two years. Others might have opted for their black-clad, toluene-huffing death trip.

With this post in mind (above), it might sound like you are trying the 'FU' at Christians contrary to your claim.  I say this, since you suggested that haven't decided what it means yourself as you express it, so it seems obvious what you're shooting for with the hardened 'bible basher' established as one reason.

I think that no person should be indoctrinated to think that Christ (and the cross) is in reflection of these sorts.  They are often religious extremists, who do not (in many cases) in their expression, reflect even an ounce of the essence of The Logos.

The best way to understand it, is to avoid simply choosing to turn it on it's head...
