Trump was correct, America isn't as good as it once was in the past.

Did you forget that MAGA won the 2016 election?

America has never been good, but it damn sure hasnt gotten worse, in aggregate.

You can't even use LSD, mushrooms, or peyote freely in the US. In many states you can't even use weed.

There is definitely nothing great about that. These are very basic freedoms, yet we Americans are denied them.

While the US is a better place to live than many other places on earth, that doesn't make it great.

We still have a lot of work to do before we can be a great country.

I like this narrative that establishment Dems like Crowley and Cuomo are losing because of pro trump fervor.

Its actually the opposite. The Dem voterbase is moving left, even further from the neoliberal center.

Just more brainless conjecture from the intellectuals on the right.

I disagree, for the vast majority of US citizens, it has "gotten worse, in aggregate". I think Bernie would agree with that statement.

If anyone said capitalism failed the working class 40 years ago, they would have looked at that person like they had two heads. Today, it's a very fair debate.

The greatest freedom is economic in nature, when that goes away people start embracing the PC playbook and sign-up for whatever form of victimization that suits their need.

I have no issue with that potential reality, but just like Trump's "America First" rhetoric, it will die a slow death at the hands of the elite.

"America First" does a good job of summarizing why he will ultimately go down as a huge failure. It is a myopic and sad statement given the realities of the world today.

How is drug use a basic freedom? Almost every country has outlawed drugs and many of them outright murder you for offending.

Doubt it.

The Democratic Socialist wing is actually founded on worker rights and equality, not some halfassed bumper sticker slogan dog whistled out to the racist masses by a billionaire real estate mogul.

MAGA failed because its dumb. Yall were duped. The progressive resurgence is centered on actual issues and tangible goals.

What "realities of the world today" are you referring too?

That's wonderful, Bernie couldn't even get a fair deal and you think the elite are going to let these "tangible goals" become reality?  You can't be this naive.

"I got duped by a billionaire again so surely the elites will crush socialists."

Wouldnt be the first time. But either way, Dems now favor socialism to capitalism. The Dem establishment sees the writing on the wall and their days are numbered. Theyve been sabotaging the left for centuries, this is nothing new.

So you think the government should be able to decide what you put in your own body?

Why would it matter if other countries have outlawed drugs or not?

Why would that have any bearing on whether or not the right to use drugs is basic freedom?

Just because other countries do it doesn't make it right.

The whole world decided it wasn't a basic freedom. Of course, i think people should be able to do psychedelics or some shit without the state getting involved. No harm no foul
