Teach me to fast!
    #25356585 -

Looking for fasting advice.

There's a LOT of resources out there and honestly I trust shroomery more than most.

Anyone ever done it and can give some helpful advice ?

This is purely for cleansing and detoxing purposes and not exactly spiritual.

Also not sure this will be a long fast but I may begin fasting regularly for short intervals maybe weekly, 24-48 hours ?

And may complete a longer fast ending with a high dose of mushrooms

Thanks for any replies

Alot of people are gunna say its bad to do.
Id suggest more than 2 days, its really not good to do it short term, all i drink is warm lemon water, theres a good book i used called prescription for nutritional healing, theres a small detailed section in there, that goes over the basics
Ive fasted an shroomed, not fun.

Ive done some light fasting at festivals.

The trick is to stay busy and "live" thru the hunger pains. Drinking lots of water helps.

Its a battle of will really. How long can u go without food? Gotta have a strong mind, strong will.

Same as you, Tony.
Every time that I've fasted the entire day before a mushroom dose, it just made me uncomfortably hungry during the trip without the urge to eat. No fun.

I believe there may be benefits to longer fasting cycles, such as reducing blood pressure and cholesterol, but I have no desire to do so.

I read something interesting recently, though.
I see it as a diet instead of a fast, but it's the type of fast that I perceive to be associated with the least risk, and still gives you the health positives.
Quote:
One of the most well-known intermittent fasting diets is the 5:2 Fast Diet - a plan that involves eating the recommended calorie intake for 5 days a week but reducing calorie intake to 25% for the remaining 2 days - to 500 calories a day for women and 600 a day for men.

I've done a 24+ hour fast before eating 5g before.

I'm currently at about 24 hours. It actually hasn't been a struggle for me at all to do a 24 hour fast, I think if I don't eat, it might begin to get difficult starting tomorrow morning.

I do drink a lot of coffee with honey, I think maybe the honey helps

Maybe I should check out that book.

Is smoking weed bad to do during a fast if the goal is detox and cleanse...? Anyone know?

Appreciate you guys

I've done a few four day water only fasts. It's quite simple. Stop taking in ALL substances other than water. Around the 70 hour mark you'll hit ketosis, at which point all your hunger pangs will disappear and your mindstate will reach a point of the most incredible clarity.

It's an absolutely fascinating experience, and I highly recommend it.

People say you should start with juice fasts and shit first.

I say fuck that, go hard or go home. Good things in this life don't come easy.

It will only destroy what you are not.

Tell yourself your God & you don't need any food to survive.

RePeat in mind 10 times and spin around counter-clockwise 3 maybe 5 times and start the process of no food for [x] amount of time...

If you make it past day two (of a food fast) that's the hardest day imo.
I always looked forward to bedtime because it would slap on another 8 hours that I didn't have to be awake through lol.
I love feeling empty, my girlfriend always thinks I'm on the brink of death, or something ridiculous, because I haven't eaten for a day.

Jokesbeard knows what I'm saying, he's been there.

Hahahaha. I'll probably just do 24-36 hours a few times then try and go longer as time progresses.

24 hours is relatively easy for me but after that I'm out of my comfort zone I feel like

Ketosis state? Clarity? You mean hunger disorientation?

fasting sounds like something the rich people came up with for us because they thought it would be good for a laugh if we prided ourselves on not eating

Mate push it to 70. Three days. Please. Seriously. There's like.. no benefit up to that point.

But when you slam hard into that ketogenic state you'll be as amazed as if you just ate a dose of mushrooms.

You can safely go a couple of weeks without food as long as you have plenty of water so there is no risk.

Don't take in any calories. So no, no honey. I'd advise against anything intoxicating if you wanna experience ketosis full on too.

Work your way into it. Incorporate  more fruits and veggies into your diet. Then go straight veg and then vegan. Then juice and finally water. This process could take you anywhere from a couple weeks to a month or two. Alternatively, you could try intermittent fasting if you are impatient.

Ketosis is when your body has no calories from the stomach to use so it burns fat from your body instead. When u reach the ketosis state, u are a fat burning machine. Just dont be in this state for too long, or u will run out of fat eventually.

It's actually the opposite of disorientation. When you're burning sugars for brainfood you're not as sharp as when you're burning fats.

There's a clear evolutionary reason for this.
