Is this calcium any good as a buffer agent?

My local garden store sells packs of powdered calcium for plants, the only thing thats stopped me from buying it is that it also contains a fare amount of nitrogen (which I dout is natural)) which I guess is nice and nutritious for plants but not to good for mushroom casings. I can also get lime but it doesnt seem to finely screened to me and there is no indication of screening size as TMC suggests. Being limestone it should be easy to cruch but should I bother with that Or just get the powdered calcium with added nitrogen?

you want to aviod nitrogen with mushies... try to find hydrated lime...
