Cambos and wavy cap grow
    #25325149 -

Hey all doing a cambos(P. Cyan) and wavy cap (Ps. Cyan)grow first time doing a cyan grow, will be updating with pictures. I have read in some threads that it must be 75-80 degrees for colinization, it's usually 74 in my house is this too low or will it just be slower?

I am using grain spawn bags I've made up and will post pictures tomorrow at the start.

They’ll do fine at room temp. My room temp fluctuates depending on the time of year, and the difference in colonization speeds during various seasons is negligible. Temps under 70 may slow it down a little, but colonization speed has a lot to do with your culture too. Plus, contams like higher temps.

Are we talking psilocybe cyans or pan cyans?

Well “wavy cap” is a nickname for Ps. cyanescens so that’s what I’m guessing he means. I was not aware they could be cultivated indoors though.

I pick those wild and they fruit when the temps are between 60 and 50 disagrees Fr. about mid October in the pnw area I live but I know fruiting does rely on a temperature drop. I hear people grow them in small fridges though I have never grown.

I’ve tried a few times to start an outdoor woodlover bed here where I live, but it’s too hot and dry and I’ve never pulled it off. I need to put some serious work into building it. Maybe inside a hoop house in the shade. I want to try it with subaeruginosa or ovoideocystidiata because apparently they tolerate the highest temps.

Yeah that's a great idea! You should try ovoids they are pretty versatile they grow in the spring and fall where I live!

Yeah I’ve got a sub and an ovoid print and I’ve been meaning to start them both. Thinking I’ll start up a shitload of sawdust and wood chips, build the hoop house sometime this summer, start the beds when it cools off, and hope for the best.

Cyans

Those are actually one of the hardest ones to grow and dont do well indoors it can be done but I'd do some research. I'm sure youl need a controlled temperature device.

A few great growers have pulled off proof of concept grows. Also i do believe ive seen a basement grow that was actually kind of good. Most of them produce only a few side pins. I bet in a few more years someone will figure out indoor woodlovers to a reliable degree

I would agree I have been looking into doing cyan indoor for a bit now and seems to be tougher for some but, definitely not impossible by any means have seen some great success.

48hrs after innoc haven't seen too much going on yet

Yeah I’ve seen a couple attempts. It would be really awesome if someone did pull it off. I honestly think subaeruginosa would be the best candidate, not only because it’s arguably the most potent magic mushroom in the world, but because it grows in warmer temps. I dunno though. Indoor cultivation of woodlovers seems like one of those holy grail things, like doing morels or black truffles in a monotub

subs require the same temps as cyanescens and azurescens. I'm about ready to attempt to fruit my indoor subs. I hope someone gets these figured out too.

I plan to keep trying until I get it down, will follow with updates using different methods.

I have read this alot that dropping temp about 10 degrees when fruiting is necessary. I have them at 74-75F and my basement rests at about 64-65 going to try it out.
