Sorry I got busy and forgot about adding to this.

What I mean is people seem to argue with their emotions, meaning people want people  to accept LGBT community because their emotional side tells them that we should accept people for who they are. I sometimes think that it isn't always in the best interest for humans to accept everything. I think sometimes we have to take our emotions out of the picture and look at the damage that acceptance could cause.

For example it isn't natural to want to change your sex and I believe there should be more research done on why this is happening. Is their a fault in our genes? Has something happened to that persons brain wiring? We know pedos brain fires up differently to normal humans and I wonder do trans brain fire differently? Is there a way to prevent this. Yet, instead we have DRs giving young teenagers hormones.

I disagree with parents saying their children will determine what sex they will be. It sounds like we are heading towards an even more confused generation.

I'm not saying it's the same for everyone and I'm not trying to minimize anyone's struggles.
What I am saying is that you should take control for the things that ARE in your control.
There's always going to be factors holding you back, roadblocks or things that are completely out of your control but you must persevere in the face of adversity!

Just when I hear someone complaining that the place they live is bigoted or whatever... I can relate from my own experience. All I'm doing is sharing what worked for me. People can take it or leave it. I know it's not easy and there may be things in the way. But if it's between eternally rotting away in a place you despise or taking a chance in a different environment, I know what I'd pick. The point is you don't have to become a victim to circumstance you can take steps to improve it.

I just find it funny when people assume I must be privileged or come from a privileged background because of my racial identity, as if that's the only thing that defines someone..... that's the only reason I shared some of my experiences (without going into details), because it seemed pretty obvious to me you were trying to say I have no idea what the struggles of LGBT people are like, when I've experienced some of the exact same things and lived among them for a good chunk of my life. I'm not minimizing anything. LGBT people aren't the only people with these types of struggles. While they may experience things in a different way, I don't think one is "greater" than the other.

I'm saying take control of your life, what you ARE able to control. That doesn't mean trying to force society to change around you, even if that's a noble goal. My struggles made me a stronger person, able to face almost any adversity head on. A little difficulty is good for you. Trying to force society to accept you though, seems like a losing proposition to me. When I had long hair down to my shoulders, I got discriminated against ALL THE FREAKING time. Jobs would look once and turn you down. People in public will misgender you constantly or make fun of you. I could either be pissed at society and try to force them to change to accept me for who I was... or adapt... or find a company that is accepting of it. Or just let it roll off my back because some people are just judgemental single-minded morons whose opinions don't matter, so fuck them. There's always options.

Alright fair enough, I'll retract my original statement. You're not hella ignorant, you're being hella obtuse...Well way to not get what I posted. You're arguing as if the majority of lgbtq community is the 'Woe is I" type. Oppression Olympics detracts from the struggles we all face. If you have the faculty to take full autonomy over your life then thats great more power to you, not everyone in this life is in the position to do so.

And that highlighted part of your post, goes to show your distorted perspective on this whole topic. This isn't about acceptance, its about living in a civil manner with one another.

I'd wager the same type of people that would make fun of guys for long hair or give you weird ass looks would also make fun of gay/trans people. Perhaps that's a false equivalence, but from my estimation that's about the closest thing I can relate to. ...

...But to answer your question I'd probably consider I used to have roughly the same amount of options, but now even less because my beliefs don't fall in the line with the new hard left which seems to have taken over many cities. Funny enough in some cities once considered to be the most "tolerant" and progressive (like Austin TX, or Asheville, NC), is where I experienced some of the harshest discrimination, but it was coming from so-called leftist progressives.

there are radical feminists who consider transwomen to not be women, but to instead be men 'colonizing' womanhood for exploitationary gain
so this is not an enormous surprise to me; being politically left leaning does not preclude discrimination

in areas like Austin, do you feel that being an LGBT individual would have, on its own, stopped the discrimination?
or was it more about expectations to be parroting particular beliefs regardless of social identity?

In Austin... it seems like the left is eating itself. It's gotten crazy, at least when I was last there.
I don't think being anything would stop the discrimination, if you don't fall in line with their ideology anyone is fair game. If you aren't parroting the narrative, then you are the "other".

I saw 'them' viciously attacking and slandering my good friend online, who I'd consider one of the most progressive people I know.. just cause they disagreed with one of his viewpoints and he wasn't the type to bow down to anyone, they don't like that. But they probably agreed on 90% of issues.

Us metalheads are known for sticking up for the little guys and downtrodden in society  like some in here would probably want you to believe I'm a bigoted trans-gay hater or some shit, because I have my own thoughts. We aren't known for being particularly politically correct. But I'll stand up for anyone in real life if they are being abused or taken advantage of. I don't take shit from anyone and I really don't like it being delivered to anyone especially those that didn't deserve it or can stand up for themselves. Shits infuriating.

I have my routine, and you have yours. I didn't read a single word of your angsty bullshit, and for good reason. You're just like a kid fresh out of college with all the facs, but you're like 40 with a family and real issues, yeah? Perhaps you should invest your energy/drive into something more meaningful. Maybe I should too, but we're not talking about me right now.

I agree with the bold part, but acceptance of certain things that would be an asset to society is needed. Why would acceptance of trans people be a detriment or be "damaging"? Old archaic ways of being and doing things are changing and I know change is hard, especially radically different changes. I don't really know how all this will pan out, but the ball is rolling and it won't stop until changes are made. Change is inevitable for all things no matter what. One can be a part of it, or watch it from the sidelines (nothing wrong with that, but it could be bad), but it will happen.

What do you mean it isn't natural to "want to change your sex"? There are so many facets and science behind what makes a brain think the way it does due to the many chemical reactions within it. When people have chemical "imbalances" coupled with mental issues that may or may not be chemically induced that is when one has this hurricane of physical and emotional disarray. Body image dysphoria, mental/chemical imbalances, dysfunctional family life, and so on are all factors and subjective to the individual. People are comfy and scared of change. Change is inevitable and necessary. Change happens no matter what eventually for ALL things. Whether one is alive to see it or not.

Some people just should not have children. I sort of agree with the statement that parents letting their kids decide what sex they want to be can be damaging. There are so many different factors at play with this that I don't even know where to begin discussing it much less doing the research on it and getting informed about it. I chose not to have kids a looooong time ago and I'm really glad i did. I think people just have kids because "that's what we're supposed to do" or something like that. I don't think many people think it through and just seem to think "it will work out" or due to what they were taught by their parent/peers and where/how they grew up.
