Reuben and Cerise

Cerise was brushing her long hair gently down
It was the afternoon of carnival

Reuben was strumming the painted mandolin
It was inlaid with a pretty face in jade
Played the Carnival Parade

Cerise was dressing as Pirouette in white
when a fatal vision gripped her tight

The song he played was the Carnival Parade
Each note cut a thread of Cerise's fate
It cut through like a blade

Reuben was playing the painted mandolin
When Ruby froze and turned to stone
for the strings played all alone

The voice of Cerise from the face of the mandolin

If you could see in my heart

That song gives me chills.  I like the emphasis on Cherise's hair.  Sometimes nothing can be more attractive and luring than a girl's long hair.  I especially like the last few lines:

Rubin walked through the streets
of New Orleans 'till dawn,
Cerise so lightly in his arms
and her hair hung gently down

OMG YESSSS!!!! that was the first recording I ever heard. I sat in my room and listened to it for a few days. If I send one of yous a blank tape could I get that show. Thats a special one to me. Havnt heard it in 4 years.

On a side note. I was at one of the chillest parties I have ever been to man such good people. And there was this beautiful woman there with long brown hair. She mentioned Rhubin & Cerise, I just cracked open a magic hat and inside the cap it said "be a traveler not a tourist" she is traveling and hiking the inca trail in Peru so I gave her the bottle cap. I already read it and I understood it. She asked if she could keep it and I was like its already yours.
To bad she had a man.
