get some cranberry juice and blend it in with the cakes in a blender... throw in some vitamin C.. and strain..

it`ll probably last a month in the fridge.

Has anyone tried this method of just using mycelium instead of actual fruits when one desires to trip?

If one makes a cranberry-juice extraction from one half pint PF style cake, what would the dosage be? Would it be safe for someone to eat a juice drink made from an entire half pint cake, or would that be too much?

Anyone with first hand experience, please speak up.

For each quart canning jar of 300g rye + 300g water, you get one reallystrong dose or two conservative doses (This is with my strain ofP. cubensis -- your mileage may vary -- start with a 1/4 jar dose and workup). You should wait about 2 weeks after complete permeation for maximumpotency. Make sure that you use organic rye! If it is notlabelled, it is probably grown with fungicides that will absolutelyguarantee failure.

To extract the mycelium, simply add ~500g of Cranberry Juice mixed with1/2 tsp of ascorbic acid crystals (vitamin C) to each jar ofwell-permeated mycelium and shake well. Add a glass marble as anagitator if you like. The acidified liquid will remove the activecomponents, leaving behind the rye grains. Pour off the liquid andenjoy. The extracted liquid should be a milky consistency with a thick,frothy layer of mycelium. If you want to get all the material, then doa second extraction with another cup of juice.
It is probably an aquired taste, but I have found the resulting brew tobe quite palatable, and have never had any nausea using this method. The onset of the trip occurs in about 20-30 minutes.
