March 26th: The End of the Petrodollar and Rise of the Petro-Yuan. Could Conflict break out? * 3
    #25082130 -

On March 26th China will introduce the new Petro-Yuan which will be backed by gold unlike petrodollar which is backed by thin air. This here looks like a threat to petrodollar and we all know whenever the Petrodollar is challenged by a country they normally start bombing it the next week after it's been announced. They say they invaded for human rights reason yet supporting Saudi Arabia and plenty of dictators. For example before US/UK invaded Saddam Hussein's Iraq got invaded he wanted to sell oil for only euros instead of dollars. In Libya, Gaddafi was introducing the gold dinar which is backed by gold which could have lead African nations out of debt and poverty. It would have finally put a stop to external exploitation and if countries wanted to buy say oil from Africa they would have to buy it with the gold dinar and they can charge whatever they like as well. This could have completely destroyed the dollar. Not shortly after NATO steam rolled through the whole country. What once used to be the most developed country in Africa is now one of the most poorest.

Except the difference between Iraq/Libya and China is that the eagle shows signs of fears waking up the sleeping dragon. China will have huge influence in Africa as they're investing a lot in Africa's development and infrastructure for some of their resources in return so both benefit from this. Africa's ties to China could be like Europe is to the US. China is investing trillions to reviving the silk road and the silk road was considered the birth of globalization. It's called the One Road One Belt initiative which will improve trade and the economy which could lead to a better life for everyone. China is basically going to dominate the world without shooting a single bullet. They build not drop bombs.

Recently Iran has clamped down on the US dollar which I find pretty interesting how that will play out as looking back in history challenging the dollar while having a huge oil reserve isn't the best idea. Unlike Iraq and Libya, Iran already has a bad relationship with the US ever since the Persians overthrew the CIA puppet in the revolution which they helped install in the 1953 coup. Recently there has been signs of instability in Iran but then again I haven't heard much signs of it escalating any worst lately so not sure if things will get worst or things will be cooled down. I'm wondering what do you think will happen in the future?

China will get away with it. It's too big to invade. The dollar will crash. China will win the war. Then  again, it will lose a fuck ton of money cause it owns a big part of the US debt.

Every so often, one of the Prophecies of Doom™ is trotted out.  Peak oil, Euros replacing USD as the trade currency and the end of oil being priced in dollars.

Doesn't mean it can't happen.  But they've been wrong every time so far, and this stuff has popped up dozens of times.

I know what you're on about but I think those videos titled "Why the dollar will collapse and America will go into a civil war" are different to what I'm on about. Remember Libya was destroyed for basically challenging the dollar with a gold backed currency.

Good post.  It'll be interesting to see how the US prevents this from happening...

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Speaking of War with Iran this just came in: Trump says John Bolton will replace HR McMaster as national security advisor

This is the same guy who fiercely advocated for the invasion of Iraq and promoted the false justification for it. He also called for bombing Iran and North Korea.

I'm guessing Trump will tantrum a little bit, China will tariff US crops, Trump's voters will all be (even more) broke and homeless in six months, and nothing else will happen. US won't attack China, they have nukes.

Trump's tantrum may well end up with another MOAB full of democracy dropped on Iran. They don't have nukes.

Not at all, the US will get desperate and start a war with some country to divert attention away from the economic issues.

I'm not a fan of US policy in the Middle East and elsewhere about the globe. In my opinion, it hasn't done any good for the average US citizen and it just put the country larger into debt.

The future of this world lies in the hands of China, India, and further down the road Africa. The Western world developed too quickly to maintain long term dominance, their population leveling off and declining while the rest of the world kept expanding.

Developing too fast? That doesn't mean anything and the whole worlds population is levelling off, that's a natural result of development.

As regions develop their population decreases due to demographic transition. However, population is a resource in and of itself. Thus, as the west developed faster than other areas of the world (due to many factors), it lost out on a long term resource: manpower.

Because other areas of the world are still developing, their rates of population growth are higher than countries in the west.

The anchor currency of the world (like over 60% of it) is the American green back....for comparison, the Euro makes up like 19%. In fact, 65% of all dollars in circulation are held outside the US. It will take sometime for me to start worrying.

“I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

I get what you re saying but why is that a good thing? It might make the country more powerful but that wouldn't necessarily translate to the average person, you could equally argue it would even be worse.
