Charcoal pencils and type

#24989549 - 02/12/18 08:23 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Aye
So i just got some charcoal pencils and a book on foliage that I am using to learn some technique.

My question is does anyone here work with charcoal pencils and if so what are the different types for?

I know HB is for outlining, are they measures of thickness or darkness? Any tips?

Anyone got a lowpass filter in this biiiiash?

H = Hardness, B = Blackness

6B is very black and soft, 6H is very light and hard. HB is somewhere in the middle. That's how it works for pencils anyway, I don't use charcoal much but I would assume they go by the same system.
