That would be my first question too, you'll definitely fit more if they are cut down first.

Making lots of use of a freezer and pantry and buying in bulk, you can save a lot of money, in fact you'll more than earn the chest freezer and power cost back if you play your cards right.

I know, but although the shelves on stand-up freezers make organization easy, they take away from valuable freezer space. I am willing to deal with the inconvenience of digging out items.

I heard decades ago that chest freezers use less power than standing freezers, per weight that you can freeze. Whether that still holds true today is up for debate.

With running household appliances power consumption will outdo purchase price, so it pays to buy the energy saving variety.

I had a chest freezer and my favorite part was how do damn cold it got. Froze everything. Shit made snow for real :lol:

My family has an old cheap magic chef freezer still humming along. Chest freezers are the shit, especially for long term storage. Just organize it properly.

I would Ideally have a full size fridge and a chest freezer completely separate.
