Perhaps some kinda gymnopilus or some kinda oyster? Im a bit rusty, new to the region and having trouble identifying with my book.

Habitat:
Colorado, growing on a tree in a neighborhood

Gills:
White gills, attached at the base. Gils are broken, do not go all the way through

Stem:
Very dense and stout, connects right to the tree

Cap:
Caps are convex, light beige and scaly on the outside

Spore print color:
none visibile

Bruising:
none visible

Other information:
Mushroom is very dense, soft and fleshy, not dry like a dryad's saddle

Could be a very young dryad saddle or a variert of local oyster, I think.

That looks like the local Pleurotus pulmonarius (Oyster Mushroom) with some drying out and getting wet again.

You should verify that by making a spore print on white paper. My collections normally come out with a pale lilac spore print. Be sure to do it overnight so you get a good heavy deposit of spore powder.
