Please Help Identifying Mushrooms in Far North Queensland

Hi There,

I live on Cape York (next to wet tropics), and have access to very wet property and the mushrooms are going nuts. This is the first of three types that I'd love a hand identifying. I've only had experience with dried shrooms and then in cold climates.

Ok. Batch 1.

Habitat:
East coast, Far North Queensland, Found in fallen leaves/leaf mould on grass. It's been very wet but warm, with some patches of sunlight in between. I found them under a Morton Bay Ash with some Kauri pines a little way up the hill

They grew in a clump (see pictures) and overlapped each other. Some rims were pink (perhaps where water dropped on them from the branches above and bruised the cap edges)?

Gills:
The gills are mushroom brown (funnily enough) and when you break a cap apart it is white. I've attached a 18 hours spore print pic.

Stem:
The stems were about 1cm thick and about as long as the width of the cap (10-15cm). They were creamy brown, woody and hollow. With the hollow in the centre taking up about a third of the space. When squeezed they went mauve/pink/blue (I suppose it depends on your definition of colours). I drew some arrows on the photos where I gave them a squeeze. When broken no noticeable sap cap out.

The Stem had a skirt that appeared fluted. So ran diagonally around the stem (on one side of the mushroom it was high, the other low). I've got one good photo of the diagonal skirt but broke the other skirts when i picked them. It does appear that some of the skirts may have been horizontal. The skirts were closer to the top than the bottom of the stem (between 1 and 2cm down from the cap).

I have split one of the stems and pointed it out in the photo.

Cap:
If you squeeze the cap it goes a pink colour. They were wet but dried like a normal mushroom. They were between 10 and 16cm across, with younger ones growing under the huddle (a huddle of mushrooms?). Cap was cream (as per photos) with gills as per the above. They were a basic mushroom cap shape (see photos). A smooth curve rather than bell shaped or round. The gills appear to go all the way to the stem but not join the stem, as the stem can be broken off without damaging the gills. The cap would be between 1 to 2cm in height (if laid flat with stem removed).


The mushroom had a mushroom type texture and smelled like a mushroom.

Spore print color:
See attached. At 16 hours going from brown to black.

Bruising:
Pink/Mauve/Purple (on the cap). More bluey-grey on the stem (see photos)

What do you think? Fun Stuff? There are more still growing.

They're an Agaricus sp.
