Let the cops and protestors kill each other. I wouldn't shed a tear for either side.

This.

It really is as simple as that.

Didn't anyone read about this case?  When the suspect was parked in his car a cop approach the car on foot, the suspect then drove away and hit the cop with his car, that's when the high speed car chase started.

I know this isn't the case but to an extent if you're swerving in and out of traffic at over 100mph then you need to be stopped. I can't blame police for using any means necessary.
Unfortunately the means they often deem necessary tend to actually put more people in danger than the driver.

I think the biggest reason cops deem such extreme measures necessary for drug offenders is because they've heard all the horror stories of people losing their minds and indiscriminately murdering people on drugs. Or at least thats what they tell themselves.

They should've never given chase. It was a suspected drug deal, not an armed robbery, not someone on a killing rampage. A suspected drug deal. Police departments are supposed to have policies to regulate car chases, and petty non-violent crimes don't fall into the "need to get this dude asap or people might get hurt/die" category that would justify a high speed chase. Think back to that case in Utah. Innocent man suffering injuries that you can't even begin to comprehend unless you've seen it in person. All because the cops couldn't give up the chase. Could be any of us in that hospital bed at any time because of some cowboy cop that doesn't know when to pull back. Now situations where the individual is an actual threat is different. The San Bernardino shooters.....things like that justify a high speed chase. Because the people on the roads/community are already in danger, and will be until the perps are taken down. But the case in the OP? Should've never gotten in a high speed chase.

It wasn't a non-violent crime after the suspect hit the cop with his car.

Sorry, but there is nothing that can be said that would ever make me reconsider my position on this.

Cops who enforce drug laws are scumbags.

Anything and everything that happens as a result of them trying to enforce drug laws is the fault of the police.

Expecting people to smile and bend over so that they can get fucked by the police is just not realistic.

That is obviously not how the world works.

The police know this. They know that when they approach somebody sitting in a car, there is a chance that person might try to drive away, which would create a more dangerous situation.

Instead of avoiding that possible outcome, the police choose the option that put innocent bystanders, themselves, and the suspect in MORE danger. Them trying to apprehend this guy creates a more dangerous situation than existed in the first place.

By doing what they did, they made the situation WORSE. Not better. It is not complicated.

The cops made the wrong decision here, as they often do.

That is irrelevant, because the guy wouldn't have done that if the cops hadn't been playing hero.

If the cops had been able to mind their own business and walk away, the entire situation would've never happened.

Some of the people on this site could get arrested for possession, spend years in prison, and they would still get down on their knees to suck more law enforcement cock afterwards. It is truly fucking pathetic.

Why are so many of you defending these assholes?

You do not owe the police ANYTHING.

Perhaps, but prejudice, which is the real issue here, is not dead at all.

I agree that drug laws tend to open up a can of worms when it comes to criminal activity.

In fact, one the rationalizations many police forces use for wanting to keep marijuana illegal is that it helps them find larger criminal activity. Of course, I don't agree with that type of mentality.

Why do these victims of police shootings always do the exact opposite thing you're supposed to do when approached by the police? Maybe if he had, he'd be alive right now. If you don't raise your hands in the air and make it known that you have no intention of violence, then there will be trouble. The problem must be that they're too stupid to consider how they are profiled... same goes with whites too... any race, really. There are just things to look for, these cops are on high alert based on all the detailed information they receive and one stupid move could cost you your life.

People have no idea how important your tone of voice, your body language, and the moves you make are to police. The outcome of a traffic stop could be a simple warning if you present yourself in a certain way.

Being emotional, combative, or argumentative doesn't help one bit.

Unfortunatly lots of people are stupid.  Lots of people are emotional, combative and argumentative.  People who get into these situations with the police are mentally ill, cognitivly underdeveloped, emotionally unhinged or just plain stupid.  None of these characteristics warrents summary execution.

The problem with cops is they dont respect or understand that people are this way.  They are not cool, collected, and compassionate.  They see the traits listed above as character flaws that warrant tit for tat aggression and combative emotions.  They respond in a way that escalates the situation.  They are not trained to help people, they are trained to take them down and take them out.

What the victims of police violence often need is not aggression, but deescalation techniques administered by a trained professional in psychological or social science.  These stupid, strung out, unhinged dregs of society need very careful and conscientious professionals.  What they get is a cowboy gunslinger.

Maybe if cops knew how to mind their own fucking business, they would'nt have been harassing this man and causing all these problems in the first place.

I agree 100%.

I'm sorry if I get a little worked up about this subject everybody, but I just have some very strong opinions on the matter.

You still have the sensibility of a wolf, but you're living in a world that is built for grazing, glassy eyed cattle. That doesn't bode well for you.

Felons have no problem shooting a cop.  And it's always the Cops that are wrong.  I had guns drawn at me when my dad and I were playing with some airsoft guns that he won at an auction but was waiting for his real gone to come in.  VA Beach Police drive in on both sides and have their guns drawn because some hippy on a bike saw us.  It was a huge misunderstanding and I saw the hippy on the bike and gave him a middle finger and he shrugged.
