I am getting 5 grams of seeds as a free gift, and know nothing about the plant... what uses do the seeds or the plant itself have?

I got a sprout out of one but I messed with it too much and it died. It was the coolest looking sprout I have ever seen though. If you make the snuff, don't expect it to be fun and make damn sure that you want to do this:

heres some recent sprouting yopo seeds. var cebil, and around 1.5-2 years old at this point, and had 100% germination with them.



the ones pictured were soaked initially in hot water overnight, then the brown coating fell off most, others were helped out of the skin.

they were placed into a ziplock with wet paper toweling, and into the incubator at around 89F overnight. this is the result. 24 hours after this -- the sprouts were 1.5-2.5 inches long including head, and had already started getting green and you could see the leaves coming out. planted em.

took around 15-20 more seeds, soaked them, and once again -- tips sprouting from each and every seed.

from what ive always heard, seed age plays a big factor in germination rate, and some say 6 month old seeds are elders that just cant grow anymore...

i just put mine in a pot and it sprouted a root. no green lil plant yet though. how long should it take to grow into a seedling? and how fast does this plant grow?

seems to grow fairly fast, judging from the germination speed, and considering they hit 2-3 inches in 72 hours.

this is my first attempt with the seeds, and varieties may differ - so i cant yet offer much advice.

if you look into the threads i posted above (and others by SE)-- they contain a lot of great nfos.


however -- if you planted a yopo seed, and it sprouted a root... you should be seeing it get up pretty quick. i expect within a week, mine will be 3 inches + above ground. they were buried up to the seed.

I did a simple acid/base extraction on yopo and the result was an awesome smoke...a few tokes and I was gone.

It won't hurt it, i'm not sure if it actually needs it but i use it anyway.

doubt it man. its hard to grow to trees even indoors in northern latitudes

Has anyone thought about doing a bonsai anadenanthera? I've been doing cali redwoods for awhile and the seeds stay full size. :smile:

Traditional root and foliage pruning as well as wire training.

I can't figure out why it died. It started looking sick then just went down hill and died. I watered and fertilized properly.
