Yeah, I'd hop on the kratom bandwagon ASAP.  You'll feel rough for a bit, but with some Gabapentin and Adrafinil you can jump off the the kratom in like 2 months. Gabapentin for akathisia (the RLS feeling you get all over your body) and Adrafinil curbs cravings greatly in my experience.

16mg is a VERY HIGH DOSE. no matter what your doctor says. do NOT take that high of a dose long term....seriously don't. you'll never get off of it.

use the suboxone in smaller and smaller/diminishing doses. taper off. now. while you still can.

if you're getting hot flashes and sweating from your dose, you're taking too much.

Interesting about the afrafinil. I forgot to mention Gabapentin also, that helped me a ton for that RLS feeling and cravings as well.

Ya kratom is a good way to kick the other stuff.  If you can jump from H to kratom without subs I would suggest that.  The key is just to get off the subs as soon as you can.  Hell some people can taper in a week and then jump off.  Might not be a bad idea to get some kratom to make stopping subs easier.  Kratom withdrawal is bad,  but it doesn't come close to H or Sub withdrawal.  So the faster you get off the subs the better off you will be.  Also if you do mak the jump to kratom go with that same routine.  Stop the sub until you start to feel sick,  then start small with the jest and work your way up to where your comfortable or just slightly uncomfortable.  And from there lower your dose as fast as your body lets you.  if you can get down to a gram in the morning and a gram at night with kratom you got it beat from there. The worst is over and stopping from those doses shouldn't be bad at all.

If I where you that's what I would shoot for if you go the kratom route.  G when you wake up, G when you go to bed.  If you break it down into smaller steps instead of looking at the big picture that makes it overwhelming,  it will make it easier for a lot of people.  Set small goals that will lead to your big goal and concentrate on one goal at a time.  Try not to relapse,  it will make you feel like you failed.  But if you do get back on the taper routine right after the relapse.  It happens, try not to let it happen, but it won't break your taper unless you let it.  The biggest thing about relapsing is that people do it once and then continue to do it and quit their taper.  Just don't let it happen.  You are stronger then any drug and you control it, don't let it control you.  The longer your taper goes on the easier it can be,  you start feeling better about accomplishing something and your that much closer to the big goal.

Do it man it will save your life and your happy future self will look back and thank you for getting off the junk.  Stay sober long enough you start to lose the thoughts of why you even wanted to do that stuff in the first place.  The negatives FAR outweigh the positives.  Good luck.

Dude OP shouldn't be on more than 4mg. Your doctor doesn't know shit.

I wouldnt even take subs if i were you. Just go cold turkey for a week. Subs will take you 3 or 4 weeks to get off of. Its just stupid

Nah I'd bet that doctor knows exactly what he's doing. Lot of super shady sub doctors trying get life long custies as BG said.

just be warned subs are if anything harder to get off than dope. takes ~15 days to fully leave your system. WD's arnt strong but they last FOREVER. Rather than a hard fast 3 day clear up with dope.

However if its your only option and you think your going to die try to taper off. But I really DO NOT recommend subs unless your a full blown addict. You have a much better chance with say kratom or just toughing it out.

Idk man ive noticed so many doctors with pure intentions that go by the book and the book is wrong. For instance my old methadone counselor really believed every addict needed 65mg atleast because "the book" said that was the opiate blocking dose which is bullshit. I was full blown and only needed 35mg and it held me perfectly

Maybe OPs doctor does know, but i know theres many that do not simpky because they think everyone is the same

That could just be an excuse to act like they have "pure" intentions when really they just want to make some money.

You'd think people that have been to medical school would know better, especially once they have real world experience. Sadly many doctors don't seem to listen to patients much if at all.
